Create a New 3D Unique Map

Instructions

In the Make Thematic Map function interface, selecting the Default item corresponding to Unique Map in the right-side list will apply the system's default settings to create a 3D Unique Map for vector dataset layers (excluding text datasets and model datasets) in a 3D scene.

Function Entrances

  • Scene Tab -> Data Group -> Thematic Map -> Make Thematic Map Dialog -> Unique Map
  • Layer Manager -> Right-Click Menu of a common layer corresponding to a vector dataset -> Make Thematic Map... -> Make Thematic Map Dialog -> Unique Map

Operation Steps

  1. Set the current layer to a 3D vector dataset layer (excluding text dataset layers) for which you want to create a 3D Unique Map.
  2. Click the Thematic Map button in the Data group on the Scene tab of the ribbon.
  3. The Make Thematic Map function interface pops up. Select Unique Map in the left-side list. The Default item is selected by default in the right-side list. Click the OK button to create a default 3D Unique Map.
  4. The created 3D Unique Map is automatically added to the current scene as a thematic layer for display. Simultaneously, a new child node corresponding to the newly created thematic map will be added under the "Common Layers" node in the Layer Manager.

Notes

  1. The Thematic Map button is only available when the current layer is a 3D vector dataset layer.
  2. After creating a Unique Map using the Default item, the 3D Unique Map window will pop up, displaying the settings information for the current thematic map. Users can modify these settings. Therefore, users can modify the default Unique Map to obtain a more ideal 3D Unique Map.
