Object Selection Style

Instructions

Object Selection Style function is used to set the display style of selected objects in a layer within the scene.

When you need to individually set the object selection style for a certain layer, you can do so through the right-click menu. Supported layers include: 2D/3D point layers, 2D/3D region layers, model layers and their tile layers, thematic map layers, and instantiated layers. This also applies when the above layers are under a layer group.

Entry

  • Layer Manager -> Right-click menu of a specific layer -> Object Selection Style option

Steps

  1. Take a region dataset object as an example. In the Layer Manager, select a 2D region or 3D layer, right-click, and choose the Object Selection Style command from the context menu. The "Object Selection Style" dialog box will appear.
  2. In the "Object Selection Style" dialog box, click the drop-down button to the right of "Fore Color" and select the fill color from the color panel.
  3. In the "Object Selection Style" dialog box, click the drop-down button to the right of "Line Color" and select the fill color from the color panel.
  4. In the "Object Selection Style" dialog box, click the drop-down button to the right of "Color Mode" and choose either "Replace" or "Blend" mode.
    • Replace: Replaces the object's color with the selected fore color.
    • Blend: Blends the object's color with the fore color.
  5. In the "Transparency" spin box, you can directly enter a transparency value or adjust it by clicking the up/down arrows to the right of the input box. The default transparency is 0, meaning the layer is completely opaque; the larger the value, the more transparent the layer. When transparency is set to 100, the layer is completely transparent. The transparency value is an integer between 0 and 100.
  6. Check the "Attach to Object" checkbox to set the surface to be attached to the object.
Notes:
  • When setting the object selection style for a model dataset, you can check the "Show Bounding Box" checkbox to display the minimum bounding box of the selected model object.
  • Currently, 3D Scene Rendering Engine V2 does not support displaying the bounding box for selected objects in a model dataset.
