Build TIM

Instructions for use

TIM (irregular tetrahedral mesh) is an irregular partition of continuous three-dimensional space, and its smallest element is irregular tetrahedron. The TIM is constructed by topologically connecting N irregular tetrahedra with high precision.

This function constructs a TIM model by 3D Point Dataset interpolation.

Operation steps

  1. On the Workspace Manager ", open the Datasource where the 3D points are stored, on the 3D Data tab, in the 3D Field Data group, click the Build TIM" button, and the Build TIM "dialog box as shown in the following figure pops up.
  2. Figure: Build TIM "Dialog Box
  3. Source Data: Sets the 3D Point Dataset that will be used to generate the TIM.
    • Datasource: Click the drop-down box on the right and select the Datasource where the 3D Point Dataset is located.
    • Dataset: All 3D Point Datasets under the selected Datasource are listed in the sliding box on the right.
  4. Parameter Settings
    • Eigenvalue: interpolate according to the eigenvalue during construction.
  5. Result Data: Set the Datasource and Dataset for saving the TIM model.
    • Datasource: Click the drop-down box on the right to select the Datasource for saving the TIM model.
    • Dataset: Enter the name of the TIMModel Dataest.

As a result of the Build operation, a TIM model is generated under the Target Datasource, which can be used for Gradient Colors based on feature values

Precautions

  • When the Datasource contains 3D Point Dataset, the "Build TIM" "button can be clicked; otherwise, the" Build TIM "" function cannot be triggered.
