Function Description

The Extend function is used to extend two or more non-intersecting line objects to ensure that they will eventually intersect.

• Extends the selected line object (or the line object of the CAD layer) to the specified object (baseline) when the layer is editable.
• When selecting an extension line object, you need to click a position on the selected extension line close to the baseline direction.
• In the extend state, if you have selected a line object as a baseline, you can only extend different line objects to that baseline in succession.
• Extend works only on line objects that will intersect the baseline after being extended, and nothing will be done on line objects that will not intersect.
• In a line layer, a baseline can be any type of line object, such as a line, parallel line, circle, and so on, or a complex line object. The line to be extended can be any unclosed simple line object, such as straight line, polyline, arc segment, polyline, etc. It should be noted that the parallel line is a complex object with two sub-objects.
• In a CAD layer, both the baseline and the line to be extended must be line objects with an Object Type of Line. The Object Type can be viewed through the Spatial Info of the Object Properties.

Function entrance

• Object Operation tab-> Object Editing group drop-down box-> Extend.

Operating instructions

1. On the Object Operation tab, in the Gallery control in the Object Editing group, click the Extend button to perform an extend operation. Mouse prompt in Map: Select Base Line.
2. After selecting a line object as the baseline, Map prompts: Please click the line to be extended.
3. Click the line object to be extended, and be sure to select the position of the line object close to the baseline direction, then Application will automatically extend the end point close to the baseline to the baseline position. If you click an endpoint location on the reroute object that is away from the baseline direction, no extension occurs.
4. If you need to extend another line object to the baseline, continue to click the line object you want to extend.
5. To end this operation, press the ESC key on the keyboard.
