Draw Polyline

Function Description

The Draw Polyline command is used to draw a continuous line object composed of multiple types of segments. The line object drawn with this function can consist of polylines, B-Spline Curves, Cardinal curves, or three-point arcs. You can switch the segment type among these four during the drawing process. Line objects are primarily used to describe polylines, such as rivers, railways, roads, power lines, etc.

Entry Point

  • The Features tab -> The Objects group -> The Line Drawing Settings drop-down list -> Draw Polyline.

Operational Instructions

Polyline
  1. In the Objects group of the Features tab, click the Drawing Settings drop-down button and select the Draw Polyline option to switch the drawing state to support polylines.
  2. At this point, the mouse cursor indicates the polyline drawing state. In the Objects group, you can click the Curve drop-down button and select B-Spline Curve or Cardinal to switch the polyline drawing type.
  3. Move the mouse into the map, click the left mouse button at an appropriate position to define the starting point of the polyline. Continue moving the mouse to suitable locations and click the left mouse button to sequentially define the vertices of the polyline.
  4. While drawing a polyline object, you can switch the polyline type in the Objects group. After switching the segment type, move the mouse into the map and continue drawing. Click the right mouse button to end the current drawing operation.
Note:

The Draw Polyline operation does not support parametric drawing.
