Attribute Table Copy and Paste
Function Description
The copy and paste function of the attribute table is used to copy or paste attribute records of multiple cells or entire rows and columns in the attribute table. It supports copying the content of selected cells in the attribute table to files such as Word, Excel, and Text. Meanwhile, it also supports copying and pasting content from files such as Word, Excel, and Text into the attribute table.
The copy and paste operations of the attribute table can be divided into the following methods:
- Copy and paste multiple cells: Select multiple cells in the attribute table, right-click and select the Copy option, or press Ctrl + C to copy the cell attribute values. Then right-click at the target cell and select the Paste option, or press Ctrl + V to paste the attribute values into the target cell.
- Copy entire rows/columns: Select several rows or columns of attribute records in the attribute table set, right-click and select the copy option, or press Ctrl + C to copy the attribute records. Then select the target row or column, right-click and select the paste option, or press Ctrl + V to paste the attribute records into the target row or column.
- Copy to other documents: Select the cells to be copied in the attribute table, right-click and select the Copy option, or press Ctrl + C to copy the cell attribute values. Then perform the Paste operation in Word, Excel, or Text files to copy the attribute values from the attribute table into these documents.
- Copy external file content to the attribute table: In external files such as Word, Excel, and Text, select the content to be copied and copy it via right-click Copy or Ctrl + C. Then select the target cell in the attribute table and paste it via right-click Paste or Ctrl + V.
- Copy while retaining the attribute table header: Select an entire row, right-click on the row header, and select Copy selection from the context menu. Using this option, copying and pasting the selected records to an external document will retain the attribute table header.
Notes:- The copy and paste of the attribute table can only operate on the content of editable non-binary fields. Copied content cannot be pasted into system fields.
- If the copied content exceeds the value range or length of the target field, or if the type does not match, the content of that cell will fail to paste and retain its original value.
- When pasting in the attribute table, the paste operation starts from the upper-left cell of the selected range in the attribute table.
