SuperMap iDesktopX supports managing workspace, including the following:

1.Save workspace

2. Save workspace as

3. Close workspace

  • File tab -> Save..
  • Start tab -> Workspace group -> Save
  • Workspace Manager panel -> Workspace node context menu-> Save Workspace

Note that all operation results must be saved to the current workspace before saving the workspace itself, as follows:

  1. Save the operation result in workspace: When there is unsaved content in the workspace, click Save to pop up the Save dialog box to list the unsaved map, model, layout, etc. There is a check box in front of the item that is checked by default. Uncheck it to not save the item to the workspace.
  2. Save Workspace: Click the Save button in the Save dialog to save workspace.
  3. If the workspace is new, the Save workspace as dialog will pop up, and you can choose to save it as File Workspace or Database Workspace. Other parameter settings:
  • Workspace File: File catalog saved by workspace.
  • Workspace Password: Supports setting password for workspace. Next time users open the workspace, the password will be required.
  • Workspace Version: The version saved by workspace. SuperMap UGC 6.0 and SuperMap UGC 7.0 versions are available.

Save Workspace As

Save the current workspace as a new workspace through Save workspace as. This operation will not make changes to the original workspace.

Below are 3 ways to save workspace as:

  • File tab-> Save As..
  • Start tab-> Workspace group-> File drop-down-> Save workspace as
  • Workspace Manager Panel-> Workspace Node Context Menu-> Save workspace as

Close Workspace

Select the Workspace node in Workspace Manager and select Close Workspace in the Context Menu to close the current Workspace.

When executing Close Workspace, if there is no unsaved content in the current workspace, the current workspace will be closed directly; If there is content in the current workspace that has not been saved, a dialog box prompts the user to save the content. If you click No, the current workspace will be closed without saving. If you click Yes, the current workspace will be saved. After closing the currently open workspace, the system will automatically open a blank workspace by default.

Delete Workspace

Select the workspace node in the Workspace Manager and delete the current database workspace in the Database by selecting Delete Workspace in the context menu.

Caution:

Delete Workspace function can only be used when there is an existing database workspace.
