Save As/Delete/Close Dataset

Save Dataset As

The Dataset Save As feature allows one or more selected datasets to be saved to a newly created file datasource at a specified path. This function simplifies the operation steps by creating a new datasource while saving the dataset.

Feature Entry

  • Right-click menu of the dataset in the Workspace Manager -> Save Dataset As.

Parameter Description

  • Target Dataset: Supports displaying and setting the name of the target dataset.
  • SmID Unchanged: Specifies whether the SmID of the dataset remains unchanged during the save. If No is selected, the SmID will be renumbered.

Delete Dataset

The Delete button is used to delete the specified dataset. You can delete multiple selected datasets at the same time.

Feature Entry

  • Right-click menu of the dataset in the Workspace Manager -> Delete Dataset.

Steps

  1. In the Workspace Manager, select the dataset to delete. You can use the Shift or Ctrl key to select multiple datasets simultaneously.
  2. Right-click on the selected dataset(s) and choose Delete Dataset from the pop-up context menu to open the delete confirmation dialog.
  3. You can also quickly delete the dataset using the Delete key as a shortcut.
Tips:
  • The Delete button is only available when a dataset is selected in the Workspace Manager.
  • When selecting multiple vector datasets, only datasets within the same datasource can be selected. Datasets across different datasources cannot be selected simultaneously.

Close Dataset

The Close Dataset command is used to close one or more datasets that are currently opened in the workspace.

Feature Entry

  • Right-click menu in the Workspace Manager -> Close Dataset option.

Steps

  1. Right-click on one (or more) dataset nodes in the Workspace Manager that you wish to close.
  2. From the popup right-click menu, select the Close Dataset command.
  3. When creating a spatial index for vector datasets, you must close the dataset first before performing the related operations.
Tips:

After clicking the Close Dataset button, a confirmation dialog will appear: "Data related to the dataset(s) will also be closed. Do you want to close the dataset(s)?"
