Recalculate Extent/Length/Perimeter and Area

Recalculate Extent

Recalculate Extent is used to recalculate the extent of one or more vector datasets.

Feature Entry

  • Workspace Manager -> Dataset node right-click menu -> Recalculate Extent

Steps

  1. In the Workspace Manager, right-click on one or more vector datasets whose extent needs to be recalculated, and select the Recalculate Extent command.
  2. The system will recalculate the extent of the selected vector datasets.
  3. If successful, the output window will display: Recalculate extent for "dataset_name" successfully.

Recalculate Length

Recalculate Length is applicable to line datasets and calculates the length of line objects in the dataset.

Feature Entry

  • Workspace Manager -> Dataset node right-click menu -> Recalculate Length

Steps

  1. In the Workspace Manager, right-click on one or more line datasets whose lengths need to be recalculated, and select the Recalculate Length command.
  2. The system will recalculate the length of the selected line datasets.
  3. If successful, the output window will display: Recalculate length for "dataset_name" successfully.

Recalculate Perimeter and Area

Recalculate Perimeter and Area is applicable to region datasets and calculates the perimeter and area of region objects in the dataset.

Feature Entry

  • Workspace Manager -> Dataset node right-click menu -> Recalculate Perimeter and Area

Steps

  1. In the Workspace Manager, right-click on one or more region datasets whose perimeter and area need to be recalculated, and select the Recalculate Perimeter and Area command.
  2. The system will recalculate the perimeter and area of the selected region datasets.
  3. If successful, the output window will display: Recalculate perimeter and area for "dataset_name" successfully.
