Import Point-Attached External Model

Function Description

A Point-Attached External Model mode Batch Import Models is adopted, and each model corresponds to respective positioning information and Model Name Select Fields, Supported Model File formats are *.osgb, *.s3m, *.s3mb, *.3ds, *.x, *.dxf, *.osg, *.obj, *.ifc, *.fbx, *.dae, *.stl, *.off, *.sgm, *.gltf, *.flt.

Function entrance

  • Home tab-> Data Processing-> Data Import-> 3D-> Point-Attached External Model.
  • Toolbox-> Data Import-> Import Point-Attached External Model tool.
  • Workspace Manager -> Specify DatasourceContext Menu-> Import 3D Model -> Point-Attached External Model Import button.

Operating instructions

  1. On the Home tab, in the Data Processing group Data Import Drop-down Button, click Point-Attached External Model. The Import Point-Attached External Model dialog pops up.
  2. Source data: setting the source data path
    • Datasource: Select a Datasource that exists in Workspace Manager from the drop-down list.
    • Dataset: Select the Point Dataset in Datasource from the drop-down list.
    • Associated field: select the field recording the plug-in model storage path from the drop-down list.
    • Model File Path: If there is no associated field or the associated field only records the model name, open the local Model Folder through the right selection button.
  3. Parameter Settings:
    • Matrix Field: Select the Matrix Field in the Point Dataset from the drop-down list. The Matrix Field stores the model space pose transformation information. Matrix Field and Rotation Angle/Scale Factor are optional. You only need to set Matrix Field or Rotation Angle and Scale Factor.
    • Separator: Sets the special symbol used to separate attribute values in the Matrix Field. For example, if it is set to , then the attribute value 1 # 2 # 3 # 4 can be understood as a combination of the attribute values 1, 2, 3, and 4.
    • Rotation angleX: Rotation angle of the model in the X axis direction, which can be set by directly inputting the angle value or selecting the corresponding field from the drop-down list.
    • Rotation angleY: Rotation angle of the model in the Y-axis direction, which can be set by directly inputting the angle value or selecting the corresponding field from the drop-down list.
    • Rotation angleZ: Rotation angle of the model in the Z-axis direction, which can be set by directly inputting the angle value or selecting the corresponding field from the drop-down list.
    • Scale FactorX: The Scale Factor of the model in the X-axis direction, which can be set by directly entering the scaling value or selecting the corresponding field from the drop-down list.
    • Scale FactorY: The Scale Factor of the model in the Y-axis direction, which can be set by directly entering the scaling value or selecting the corresponding field from the drop-down list.
    • Scale FactorZ: The Scale Factor of the model in the Z-axis direction, which can be set by directly entering the scaling value or selecting the corresponding field from the drop-down list.
    • Ignore material color: It is used to set whether to Import material color when model texture and material color exist at the same time. It is imported by default.
  4. Result:
    • Datasource: Select the Datasource that stores the Result Data from the drop-down list.
    • Result Dataset: Sets the Resulting dataset name.
  5. After setting, click Execute to Import Data through Point-Attached External Model.
