Import S-421
Feature Description
SuperMap iDesktopX supports importing *.gml data that conforms to the S-421 product specification into file databases, database datasources (PostGIS or DMPlus), or EMS datasources. During import, you can specify a matching S-421 feature catalogue (FC). After import, S-421 data can be added to the map window, and planned route features can be symbolically displayed according to the display catalogue specification.
Version Information
SuperMap iDesktopX supports S-421 data import starting from the 2026 version.
Function Entry
- In the workspace manager, right-click the target datasource and select Import Nautical Chart Data > S-421.
Operation Instructions
- Open or create a datasource in the workspace to store the *.gml files, and ensure that the datasource is editable.
- Select the target datasource, and choose Import Nautical Chart Data > S-421 from the context menu; alternatively, in the Data Processing group on the Start tab, select Data Import > Chart > S-421.
- In the Import Nautical Chart Data dialog box, select one or more S-421 *.gml files. Set the file type to S-421 file (*.gml), and click Open.
- In the S-421 Import dialog box, review the files to be imported and set the Target Datasource and FC as needed. The dialog box provides the following information:
- Source File: Displays the file name of the S-421 data to be imported.
- Source Data: Displays the file path of the source data.
- Target Datasource: Displays the target datasource for import. You can select other editable data sources in the current workspace.
- FC: Sets the S-421 feature catalogue. You should select an FC that matches the version of the source data. Currently, only S421_FC_1.0.0 is supported. After selecting the FC, the system automatically matches the corresponding version of the PC (display catalogue) and displays features in the map according to the display rules of that version.
- After confirming that the files, target datasource, and FC are correct, click Import. Once the import is complete, the S-421 data will be saved to the target datasource.
Note:The file path of the imported data must not contain Chinese characters.
