Step 3 Configure Base Map and Map Surround Elements

After completing the Label Thematic Map creation, you need to add base map elements and configure map surround elements to improve map aesthetics.
- Use ResidentialArea dataset as the residential area polygon data. Click the New button in the Thematic Map group under the Maps tab. In the "Create Thematic Map" window, select the "Default" template under "Unique Value Thematic Map" to create thematic mapping for this layer, with Label Field set to CLASSID. Style parameters for each unique value item are as follows:
Unique Value Item Style Parameters 32021 Foreground Color: RGB(255,203,151), Line Style: NULL 32022 Foreground Color: RGB(247,204,251), Line Style: NULL 32023 Foreground Color: RGB(195,214,155), Line Style: NULL 32024 Foreground Color: RGB(255,255,155), Line Style: NULL 32025 Foreground Color: RGB(255,218,191), Line Style: NULL 32026 Foreground Color: RGB(204,193,217), Line Style: NULL - Adjust layer display order.
Remove the ResidentialArea layer. Place its Unique Value Thematic Map layer at the bottommost position, position RoadLine1 above the ResidentialArea Unique Value Thematic Map layer, and place the RoadLine1 Label Thematic Map layer at the topmost level. - In the Basic parameters of the Map Properties interface, check both Line Antialiasing and Text Antialiasing to optimize map display effects.
- After configuration, save the map as "Road Label AlongLine".
