Video map is a new form of map expression. It is based on video spatialization, utilizing computer vision technology to integrate virtual and real elements, enabling real-time geographic information visualization and intelligent geographic analysis. A video dataset can be added to a video map window, or played in a map or scene.
To overlay a video dataset with GIS spatial data for display, it must be registered first. For details, please refer to Video Registration.
Video Map
- Double-click a video dataset or use the Add to New Video Map/Add to Current Video Map option from the context menu to add the video dataset to a video map.
- Playback operations can be performed using the playback control bar below the video map:
- Fast-forward/Rewind video: Click the fast-forward or rewind button on the control bar. By default, it skips forward or backward by 5 seconds each time.
- Playback Speed: The playback speed can be adjusted through the speed drop-down list. Available rates include: 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1 (default), 1.25, 1.5, 2, 3, 4.
- Set Play Parameters: Click the settings button on the control bar to pop up the Play Settings dialog box.
- Increment: Sets the time interval for each fast-forward or rewind operation. The default is 5 seconds.
- Unit: The unit for setting the step value, options are Seconds or Frame.
- Loop Playback: Used to set whether to loop playback the video. If checked, playback will automatically start from the beginning after finishing; if unchecked, the video plays once and then stops.
Map
- A registered video dataset can be opened in a map. The method is: video dataset context menu -> Select Add to New Map or Add to Current Map.
- The display method of the video in the map changes with the map scale and map variation, sequentially appearing as a video point, video extent polygon, and video scene:
Video Dataset Bounds Display Method p≤5% Point 5<p≤10% Video Extent Polygon P>10% Reality Video - Click the Map tab -> Browse -> Play Video option, which provides two methods: Play (Map) and Play (Layer):
- Play (Map): Click this option to play all videos in the current map.
- Play (Layer): Click this option to play the videos in the layer selected in the Layer Manager.
After execution, the Play Video dialog box pops up, where a list displays the currently playable video layers. You can select whether to play them via checkboxes. A playback control bar is provided at the top of the dialog box for operations like fast-forward, rewind, and adjusting playback speed.
Note:When playing video in a map, it is recommended to fully view the current video dataset bounds. Otherwise, the playable video dataset layers may not be displayed in the Play Video dialog box.
Scene
A registered video dataset can be displayed integrated with model data in a scene. The method to open it is: video dataset context menu -> Select Add to New Spherical Scene/Add to New Plane Scene or Add to Current Scene. You can play/pause the video layer via the Play, Pause, Stop options in the Scene tab -> Browse -> Play Layer drop-down button.
