Precautions for model making

In order to ensure the efficiency of model loading and the effect of display, there are some precautions and optimization measures when making the model. Let's take 3ds Max making *.3ds model as an example to introduce how to make a concise, efficient and beautiful model.

Requirements for 3ds Max

The version of 3ds Max is required to be before 9.0, and some auxiliary utility plug-ins such as empty waste shader plug-ins are required.

When modeling, set the System Unit for 3ds Max to meter. When 3ds Max is used to open the Model File, if the Max Model File unit is inconsistent with the current scene unit, the File Load: Units Mismatch "dialog box will pop up. Check the Adopt the File's Unit Scale "item in units of the Max file.

Requirements for the model

When modeling, it is recommended to use the minimum number of faces to show a better structure. For detailed model requirements, see: Requirements for the model .

Building size reference

It includes the following three points:

  1. Residential area: The standard floor is 3 meters, and the first floor is 3.5-4 meters.
  2. Commercial buildings and large buildings: the standard floor is 3.5-4 meters, and the first floor is 4-5 meters.
  3. Parapet: 0.3-0.4m in width and 0.3-1.2m in height.

File naming

The names of models and maps should be letters and numbers, and it is better not to appear in Chinese. Map naming requires that the name not exceed 8 digits in length. The name of the map should be consistent with the texture, and the name of the picture with the same texture should be consistent. It is not allowed that the name of the picture is the same, but the texture is different.

Texture Map

Before using Texture Map, the texture needs to be checked and processed to achieve optimal Display Effects. Please refer to Texture Map for specific inspection contents .

3ds file size

In order to ensure the efficiency of loading the model into the scene, the number of faces of a *.3ds model should not exceed 30,000. If there are more than 30,000 triangular faces, they should be divided into two or more *.3ds files.

Number of maps

A *.3ds Model File should not correspond to more than 100 maps. If it exceeds 100, it should be divided into 2 or more *.3ds files.

Coordinate Settings
