Network Analysis Workflow

The basic steps for performing any type of Network Analysis in SuperMap are as follows:

  1. Prepare the Network Dataset.
  2. Add a Network Dataset.
  3. Set up the Network Analysis environment. See the Network AnalysisEn vironment Settings window page for how to set up your Network Analysis environment.
  4. Create a new Network Analysis instance to perform Network Analysis, such as Optimal Path Analysis, Service Area Analysis, etc. For an introduction to instance windows, see the Instance Management window page.
  5. Adds Network Analysis objects to the current Map.

Note : Different Network Analysis requires different objects to be added. For example, Find Nearest Facility requires event points and facility points to be added; Service Area Analysis requires the addition of a center point. Generally, there are two ways to add: one is to import in the form of Dataset, and the other is to add objects in an interactive way.

  6. Set the Analysis Parameters. For example, when performing Service Area Analysis, you need to set Service Radius, whether the analysis direction starts from the service station, whether the service station is mutually exclusive, whether to use the steering table during analysis, and Result Parameters, such as whether to save node information and arc information.
  7. Execute Analysis operation and view the Analyst Result and Driving Guidance. For an introduction to Driving Guidance, see the Driving Guidance page.
