The Thematic Label Map is mainly used to label and describe the map. Objects such as points, lines, and faces can be labeled with a field (or multiple fields) in Layer Properties. In the process of drawing, text or numerical fields, such as place name, Road Name, river width, contour elevation value, etc., are often used for annotation.
Map annotation is helpful for the descriptive description of the Current Map Object and increases the amount of information carried by the map. Through the production of Thematic Label Map, we can quickly label the objects in the map, and avoid the trouble of manually adding annotations. In the process of making Thematic Label Map, Application will automatically generate text labels according to the Attributes of one or more fields and place these labels in the appropriate position. Considering the overlapping of multiple layers, the position of a single label can be manually adjusted through the "Move Label" function.
There are four types of Thematic Label Map that can be created by Application: Uniform Style, Ranges Style, Composite, The Matrix Style program also provides templates for four Thematic Label Map. Select a Vector Layer in Layer Manager, right click it, and select Create Thematic Map.. "In the pop-up Context Menu to pop up the Create Thematic Map" dialog box. The user can make a Thematic Label Map of a certain type by selecting a Label Map Templates of that type.
- Uniform Label Thematic Map uses a style to label all objects, which is commonly used in the process of mapping, such as provincial and prefecture-level administrative regions in the national map. In particular, Uniform Style supports setting the font type, size, Rotation angle, and Font Color of the label by selecting Property Field, so as to customize the label setting and meet different label display requirements.
- Unique-The values Style Thematic Map classifies the object labels based on the value of the Specify Field expression. The object labels with the same value are classified into one category and displayed in the same style, and the labels of different categories are displayed in different styles; Where a single value corresponds to a single value Thematic Label Map subitem.
- The Ranges Label Thematic Map must specify a segmentation field. According to the specified segmentation range, the labels of the same segmentation range are expressed in one style, and the labels of different segmentation ranges are expressed in different styles. That is, the Thematic Label Map is displayed in a variety of styles according to the range of segmentation.
- The Matrix Style Thematic Label Map uses a matrix structure to organize the label content, which can integrate symbols, pictures and texts into a Label Matrix to label the objects in the map. And a Label Matrix can be nested in a matrix cell. Therefore, Label Matrix Thematic Map is very suitable for expressing complex thematic map information, such as weather forecast thematic map and tourism thematic map. As shown in the figure below, the Thematic Label Map displays the Map's Chinese Name, English name, and photos of famous local scenic spots.
