Block Adjustment

Feature Description

Block adjustment is a high-precision geometric correction method that calculates orientation parameters for satellite images through adjustment computations based on tie points and Ground Control Points (GCPs) measured within stereo or planar block areas. This method effectively eliminates systematic and random errors, making it suitable for large-area image coverage or multi-image mosaic processing scenarios.

SuperMap ImageX Pro has supported this feature since version 11i(2023).

Dataset

Displays the dataset containing images for block adjustment (read-only).

DatasetMosaic
Input Image Type Select image type for adjustment. Default: Panchromatic Image. Options include Multispectral Image, Forward-looking Image, Rear-view Image, and Front View and Rear View Image. ComboBoxImageType
Reference Adjustment File

Utilize existing adjustment file information to align current adjustment results' edge matching and planar accuracy with previous outcomes.

Use Add/Delete buttons in toolbar to manage multiple reference files.

Reference adjustment files are generated from previous block adjustments.

Adjustment Mode

Select adjustment computation method. Default: Constrain Tie Point Elevation.

  • Do Not Constrain Tie Point Elevation: Uses original elevation values without updates.
  • Constrain Tie Point Elevation: Iteratively updates tie point elevations based on adjustment results.

Result RPC Path

Displays storage path for result RPC files (read-only).

Default Adjustment File Path

Specifies *.csv file storing adjustment file paths.

  • Checked: For DOM flow: Set Image PathProcessing Path/Adjustment/BlockAdjustment/AdjustmentFile.csv. For DSM process: Set Image Path (DSM/DEM)Processing Path/Adjustment/BlockAdjustment/AdjustmentFile.csv.
  • Unchecked: Allows custom adjustment file path.

Available when Default Adjustment File Path is unchecked.

Specifies custom path for adjustment file storage.

Correction Model Type

Options: Linear RPC Correction Model (default), Quadratic Polynomial RPC Correction Model, and Cubic Polynomial RPC Correction Model.

  • Linear RPC Correction Model: For minimal internal distortion. Requires ≥4 GCPs. Add via Manage Ground Control Points.
  • Quadratic Polynomial RPC Correction Model: Moderate distortion. Requires ≥9 GCPs.
  • Cubic Polynomial RPC Correction Model: Significant distortion. Requires ≥16 GCPs.
CorrectedModelType

Output

Generates Result RPC files (*.rpb) and adjustment files (*.csv) containing RPC and image information.
