Introduction

By performing a GET request on the sprites resource, the sprite atlas information in the specified style map can be obtained. When the representation is in a format such as PNG, the sprite image can be acquired. When it is in JSON format, the metadata info for locating icon positions is returned. Additionally, obtaining the sprite atlas information at double magnification is supported. The URI example is < vectorMap_uri>/sprites/sprite@2x[.<format>].

Supported Methods:

  • GET: Obtain the sprite atlas information in the specified style map.
  • HEAD: Check whether the sprite resource exists or whether the user has permission to access the sprite resource.

Supported Representation Formats: RJSON, JSON, PNG, BMP, JPG.

HTTP Request Methods

Execute HTTP requests on the following URIs, using PNG and JSON output formats as examples. Here, supermapiserver is the server name.

GET Request

Obtain the sprite atlas information in the current map.

Request Parameters

To perform a GET request on the sprites resource to obtain the sprite atlas information, the relevant parameters need to be included in the URI. The parameters are as follows:

Name Type Description
styleID String The style ID of the vector tiles electronic map. Multiple styles can be provided for the same service.

HEAD Request

Returns the same HTTP response headers as the GET request, but without a response body. Without transmitting the entire response content, the metadata info contained in the response headers can be obtained. Metadata info includes media type, character encoding, compression encoding, entity content length, etc.

The HEAD request can be used to determine whether the sprites resource exists or whether the client has permission to access the sprites resource. By executing a HEAD request on the URI with .<format>, it can also quickly determine whether the sprites resource supports the representation in the <format> format.
