Knowledge Base Management

Integrating external knowledge bases addresses limitations like model hallucinations and domain knowledge gaps, significantly improving response accuracy. iPortal AI Assistant supports uploading and storing external knowledge content, offering specialized retrieval capabilities.

Administrators can add knowledge bases, import external files, and manage all portal knowledge bases—including editing, deleting, adding content, and removing files.

Adding Knowledge Base

Login to the AI Assistant as an administrator, click the Workbench icon button to access the workbench, then navigate to "Knowledge Base Management" > "Add Knowledge Base" and complete these steps:

1. Create Knowledge Base

Enter a name and description. Note: The knowledge base name cannot be modified after creation.

You can create an empty knowledge base or proceed to upload files, which will be automatically parsed into the knowledge base.

2. Import Knowledge Files

Upload local knowledge files. Supported formats include DOCX, PPTX, PPT, XLSX, XLS, etc., with a maximum file size of 200MB.

After upload, documents undergo vectorization processing. Monitor status in the document management list. For failed vectorizations, click the refresh button to retry.

Once added, administrators and users can utilize the knowledge base. Administrators can update or delete knowledge bases as business needs evolve.

Using Knowledge Base

All iPortal AI Assistant users can leverage knowledge bases to expand the AI's knowledge scope and enhance response reliability.

After logging in, click the Settings icon button in the left sidebar. Select desired knowledge bases in the settings panel. Then click the Chat icon button to return to the chat page and enable "Professional Search" for knowledge-based queries.
