SuperMap iPortal provides administrators with the following map management functions:

  • Review maps: Review maps added, edited and imported by common users. (Map Review is disabled by default. You can enable this function in the iportal.xml configuration file. For details, see: iPortal configuration file description)
  • Manage maps: Manage (edit, search, delete, modify sharing scope, set as featured) all the maps added to the portal.

Review maps

SuperMap iPortal 8C (2017) SP1 and later versions provide the map reviewing function. If you enable this function, the maps that normal users applied to add to Map Resource Center need to be reviewed. By default, this function is disabled, which means all the maps users create will be added to Map Resource Center for searching and using. Note that only the users who have the privileges can view and use these maps in Map Resource Center.

When the imported map has dependent services and data, the resources are audited if they have auditing turned on, or not audited if they do not have auditing turned on.

Enable/Disable Map Review

The map audit function is not enabled by default. iPortal administrator, after logging in, click Manage > Resource Management > Dashboard > Dashboard Audit to enter the "Dashboard Audit" page, click "Enable" button to enable the map audit function.

Meanwhile, Portal administrators can enable or disable this function by modifying iportal.xml in [SuperMap iPortal installation directory]\webapps\iportal\WEB-INF folder. For details, see: iPortal configuration file description.

Configure map attribute fields

If users in your organization modified the information of the reviewed maps, for example, the title, description, but the description doesn't conform to your standard, you can control these modifications by configuring map property fields for your reviewing operations. You need to configure them in iportal.xml file. And the properties you can configure include  title(title), description (description), thumbnail (thumbnail), tags (tags). For specific configuration, see: iPortal configuration file description.

Review maps

After logging into the iPortal as an administrator, you can view the maps to be reviewed in Pending Items on Management>Home page, or you can view them by entering Management>Resources Management>Map Review page. Then you can perform the following operations:
