Instance Manager Window

The Network Analysis Instance Manager window is used to manage analysis instances, which represent processes of solving real-world problems through analysis in network models, such as route analysis, service area analysis, and find nearest facility. Currently, network analysis has been widely applied in various industries including electronic navigation, transportation tourism, urban planning, logistics, and power/communication systems.

Introduction

In the "Spatial Analysis" Tab's "Facility Network Analysis" group, click the "Network Analysis" drop-down button. Select the desired network analysis item from the dropdown menu, and the "Instance Manager" dock bar will appear as shown below.

Instance Manager Toolbar Description

  • Add by mouse click: Click the "Add" button to activate drawing mode on the map. Left-click at desired positions to add sites. Each added site will automatically appear in the Stop Info section of the Instance Manager window. Right-click to finish.
  • Move stop by mouse drag: Click the "Move" button to activate selection mode. Select an existing point on the map, hold left mouse button to drag it within node tolerance range, then release to complete relocation.
  • Execute: Click the "Execute" button to perform network analysis.
  • Parameter settings: Click the "Settings" button to open the parameter settings window for configuring detailed analysis parameters.
  • Delete instance: Click the "Delete" button to open the confirmation dialog. Click "OK" to remove the current instance, or "Cancel" to abort.

Context Menu for Tree Nodes

  • Site
    • Remove: Select "Remove" from the "Site" context menu to clear all sub-sites. Choosing "Remove" from a sub-node's menu will only delete that specific item.
    • Import: Add sites through import. For details, see Add Site page.
    • Export: Export all sites in the analysis instance as a point dataset.
  • Barrier Node
    • Remove: Select "Remove" from the "Barrier Node" context menu to clear all sub-barriers. Choosing "Remove" from a sub-node's menu only deletes that specific item.
    • Import: Add barrier nodes through import, similar to importing stops.
    • Export: Export all barrier nodes in the analysis instance as a point dataset.
  • Analyst Result
    • Save as Dataset: Save all generated sub-items in analyst results as datasets. Choosing "Save as Dataset" from a sub-node's menu saves only that specific result. When saving result datasets, you may select a field as the statistic field, whose value will be the cumulative sum of corresponding fields across all traversed arcs.
    • Remove: Clear all sub-items in analyst results.
