Context Menu in the Symbol Library window

The Context Menu in the Symbol Library window (Style Settings window) is divided into the following:

    Context Menu of the root group in the
  • symbol library subgroup management area;
  • Context Menu of the subgroup in the
  • symbol library subgroup management area;
  • Context Menu for the symbol and subgroup selected in the
  • symbol browsing area.
The functions provided by

these Context Menus are described in detail below.

Context Menu of the root group in the

symbol library subgroup management area

Right click the root group in the sub-group management area of the symbol library to pop up the Context Menu. The functions of each menu item of the Context Menu are as follows:

  1. New Group: After selecting the "New Group" item in the Context Menu, a new subgroup will be created under the root group.
  2. Rename: After selecting the "Rename" item in the Context Menu, the name of the root group becomes editable. At this time, you can modify the name of the root group.
  3. Paste: It is used to copy a selected sub-group (except the root group) directory copied in the copy operation to the root group.
  4. Export: It is used to export all the contents under the root group directory as a new symbol library file. After selecting the "Export" option, the Save As dialog box will pop up. Specify the path where the new symbol library file is saved and the file name of the new symbol library file in the dialog box, and then click the "Save" button.

    The symbol library file format is: *.sym (Marker Symbol Library file), *.lsl (line symbol library file), *.bru (Fill Symbol Library file).

  5. Import: Used to import other symbol library files, i.e., other symbol libraries, in the current symbol library window. After selecting the "Import" item, the "Open" dialog box will pop up. Select the symbol library file corresponding to the symbol library to be opened in the dialog box, and then click the "Open" button to load the symbol library resource in the current symbol library window.

    The symbol library file format is: *.sym (Marker Symbol Library file), *.lsl (line symbol library file), *.bru (Fill Symbol Library file).

Context Menu of Subgroup in Symbol Library Subgroup Management Area

Right click a subgroup in the symbol library subgroup management area to pop up the Context Menu. The functions of each item in the Context Menu are as follows:

  1. New group: Create a new sub-group under the selected sub-group. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol library window, right click to select a subgroup in the symbol library subgroup management area;
    • Select New Group in the pop-up Context Menu to create a new subgroup under the selected subgroup.
  2. Copy: Copy a selected sub-group (excluding the root group) directory, including the symbols under the sub-group and other sub-groups, to the clipboard. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol library window, right-click to select a subgroup (except the root group) in the symbol library subgroup management area;
    • Select "Copy" in the pop-up Context Menu to select the selected sub-group directory, including the symbols under the sub-group and other sub-group directories.
  3. Paste: Copy a selected sub-group (except the root group) directory copied by the above copy operation to the specified sub-group. The specific operation is as follows:
    • In the symbol library window, right click to select a subgroup in the symbol library subgroup management area, that is, the place where the copied subgroup directory is copied to;
    • Select Paste in the pop-up Context Menu to copy the copied subgroup directory to the selected target subgroup directory.
  4. Delete: Delete the selected sub-group, including all symbols in the sub-group and the sub-group directory. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol library window, right click to select a subgroup in the symbol library subgroup management area;
    • Select "Delete" in the pop-up Context Menu;
    • Prompt dialog box pops up to ask the user whether to delete the selected sub-group. If Confirm Deletions, click the "OK" button to delete the selected sub-group and all the contents under its directory. If the "Cancel" button is clicked, the deletion operation is cancelled.
  5. Rename: Renames the name of a selected sub-group. The specific operation is as follows:
    • In the symbol library window, right click to select a subgroup in the symbol library subgroup management area;
    • Select "Rename" in the pop-up Context Menu;
    • The name of the selected subgroup in the symbol library subgroup management area becomes editable. At this time, you can modify the name of the subgroup.
  6. Export: Used to export all contents under the selected sub-group directory as a symbol library file. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol library window, right click to select a subgroup in the symbol library subgroup management area;
    • Select the "Export" item in the pop-up Context Menu;
    • The Save As dialog box pops up. Specify the path to save the new symbol library file and the file name of the new symbol library file in the dialog box, and then click Save.

    The symbol library file format is: *.sym (Marker Symbol Library file), *.lsl (line symbol library file), *.bru (Fill Symbol Library file).

Select the symbol or subgroup in the symbol browsing area in the symbol library window, right click the mouse, and the Context Menu will pop up as shown below. The following describes the functions of each menu item of the Context Menu in detail:

  1. Display Method: Controls the display style of icons in the symbol browsing area. There are four display styles: large icon, small icon, list, and detail. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol browsing area of the symbol library window, right click the mouse in the blank position;
    • In the pop-up Context Menu, point to the "Display Method" item and select a style in the menu below it.
    • If one or more symbols or subgroups are selected in the symbol browsing area, right click the mouse, and the pop-up Context Menu also contains the "Display Method" item, through which the display style of Set Icon can also be set.
  2. Copy: Copies multiple sub-groups or symbols selected in the symbol browsing area to the clipboard. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol browsing area of the symbol library window, select multiple subgroups or symbols in the same way as selecting multiple files or folders in the Windows Explorer, that is, the subgroups are similar to folders and the symbols are similar to files;
    • Right click the mouse and select "Copy" in the pop-up Context Menu to copy the selected symbols and subgroups, including the symbols under the subgroups and other subgroup directories, to the clipboard.
  3. Paste: Copy the sub-group and symbol copied by the above copy operation to the specified sub-group. The specific operation is as follows:
    • In the symbol library window, locate the Target Path of the content to be copied, that is, the directory of the Target Path displayed in the symbol browsing window;
    • Right click the mouse in the blank area under the target directory, and select "Paste" in the pop-up Context Menu to copy the copied subgroups and symbols to the target directory.
  4. Rename: Renames the name of a selected sub-group. The specific operation is as follows:
    • In the symbol browsing area of the symbol library window, right-click to select a subgroup;
    • Select "Rename" in the pop-up Context Menu;
    • The name of the selected subgroup becomes editable. At this time, you can modify the name of the subgroup.
  5. Delete: Delete the selected multiple symbols and sub-groups, including all the symbols and sub-group directories in the sub-group. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol browsing area of the symbol library window, select multiple subgroups or symbols in the same way as selecting multiple files or folders in the Windows Explorer, that is, the subgroups are similar to folders and the symbols are similar to files;
    • Right click the mouse and select "Delete" in the pop-up Context Menu;
    • A prompt dialog box pops up to ask the user whether to delete the selected content. If Confirm Deletions, click the "OK" button to delete the selected symbols and subgroups, including all symbols and subgroups in the subgroups. If the "Cancel" button is clicked, the deletion operation is cancelled.
  6. Export: Used to export the selected multiple symbols and sub-groups, including all the contents under the selected sub-group directory, as a symbol library file. Specific operation:
    • In the symbol browsing area of the symbol library window, select multiple subgroups or symbols in the same way as selecting multiple files or folders in the Windows Explorer, that is, subgroups are similar to folders and symbols are similar to files;
    • Right click the mouse and select "Export" in the pop-up Context Menu;
    • The Save As dialog box pops up. Specify the path to save the new symbol library file and the file name of the new symbol library file in the dialog box, and then click Save.
