Zoom In and Zoom Out
Zoom In
There are two methods to enlarge the map in the current view: scrolling up with the mouse wheel, or using the Map->Browse->Zoom In button. When activated, the cursor changes to .
When in pan or selection mode, pressing the "Z" key also switches to zoom-in mode.
Two operational modes are available:
- Click to Zoom In: Single-clicking centers the map at the cursor position with 2× magnification.
- Box Selection: Click-drag diagonally to draw a temporary rectangle. Upon release, the map centers at the box midpoint and zooms to fit the rectangle proportionally (using the smaller width/height ratio).
Zoom Out
To reduce map scale: scroll down with the mouse wheel, or use Map->Browse->Zoom Out. Active state shows .
Press "X" during pan/selection mode to toggle zoom-out state.
- Click to Zoom Out: Centers at clicked position with 0.5× scaling.
- Box Selection: Drag a rectangle - post-release display centers at box midpoint, applying the smaller width/height ratio for reduction.
Interactive Zooming
- Free Zoom
Select Zoom dropdown -> Free Zoom (or press "C") to activate

- Click-drag vertically: upward to zoom in, downward to zoom out. Map refreshes upon release.
- Note: Continuous dragging may show blank areas during zoom-out until mouse release.
- For real-time updates during manipulation, use Real-time Free Zoom.

Choose Real-time Free Zoom from dropdown to activate
