Open Map
When opening an existing workspace, under the Map node in the workspace manager, the maps saved in the current workspace are displayed. Users can open any map under the map node in two ways: Open Map and Add to Current Map.
Open Map
- Right-click a map under the map node in the workspace manager, and select Open Map from the context menu to display the selected map in a new map window.
- In the workspace manager, double-click a map under the map node to open it in a new map window.
- Open Multiple Maps at Once: Hold down the Ctrl key, select multiple map nodes in the workspace manager, then right-click and choose Open Map from the context menu. This will open the selected maps in multiple map windows, with each map displayed in a separate window.
Add to Current Map
- Right-click a map under the map node in the workspace manager, and select Add to Current Map from the context menu to display the selected map in the currently opened map window. This allows for quick merging of multiple maps into one. The newly added map creates a new layer group in the layer manager window, containing all layers from the added map.
- Dragging a map to an already open map window can also open multiple maps in a single map.
New Map
Function Entrance
- Right-click the map node in the workspace manager, and select New Map Window from the context menu.
- Start tab -> Browse -> Map button. The map drop-down button consists of two parts: the button portion, which executes the first function in the drop-down menu when clicked; and the drop-down button portion, which displays the menu for selecting functions.
Operation Instructions
Below details the functions and operations for each item in the Map drop-down menu:
- New Map Window: Click New Map Window to create a blank map and select datasets to load and display in this map.
- Add to New Map: Used to display selected spatial data in a new map. Specific steps:
- In the workspace manager, select the datasets for browsing spatial data. Use Shift or Ctrl to select multiple datasets (cannot select datasets across different data sources).
- Click Add to New Map to create a new map and display the selected datasets.
- Add to Current Map: If the current active window is a map, Add to Current Map adds the selected spatial data to this map for display. Specific steps:
- In the workspace manager, select the datasets for browsing spatial data. Use Shift or Ctrl to select multiple datasets (cannot select datasets across different data sources).
- Click Add to Current Map to display the selected datasets in this map.

- You can perform various operations in the map, such as adding data, editing data, decorating data, and analyzing data. All displayed content can be saved as a map. The map must first be saved to the workspace, and then the workspace must be saved to retain the map permanently. When reopening the workspace, you can retrieve the previously saved map content.
- When closing the current map, a prompt dialog appears asking whether to save the current map. If you click Yes and the map in the current map is an existing one, the content is saved directly to that map. Only after saving the workspace is the map permanently retained.
- When closing the current map, a prompt dialog appears asking whether to save the current map. If you click Yes and the map in the current map is being saved for the first time, the Save Map As dialog opens. Enter the map name to save it, and a new node corresponding to the saved map is added under the map collection node in the workspace manager. This saves the map to the workspace, but it must be saved along with the workspace for permanent retention.
Delete Map
The Delete Map command deletes the map from the map collection in the workspace.
Right-click the map you want to delete in the workspace manager, and select Delete Map from the context menu.

- First select multiple maps simultaneously in the workspace manager, then right-click and choose the Delete Map command from the context menu (which is the same context menu for maps) to delete all selected maps at once.
- Pressing the Delete key can also delete a map.
Rename Map
The Rename command modifies the name of the map.
- Right-click the map to rename, and click Rename in the context menu. The display name of the map node becomes editable. Type the new map name, then click anywhere in the application interface or press Enter to complete the modification.
- Select the map to rename in the workspace manager and press F2 to rename it.
Save Map
The Save Map command saves the map in the current map window.
Ensure no objects are selected in the current map. Right-click in the map and select the Save Map command from the context menu.
- If the current map is a new map, the Save Map dialog appears. Enter the name of the new map and click OK.
After saving, a new map node corresponding to the saved map is added under the map collection node in the workspace manager.
- If the current map is an existing map in the workspace, modifications are saved directly to it.

If the current map is a saved map in the workspace with no modifications, the Save Map command is grayed out and unavailable.
Save Map as
The Save Map as command saves the map as a new map.
-
Right-click the map in the workspace manager and click Save Map as in the context menu.
In the Save Map as dialog, enter the new map name and click OK. A new map corresponding to the saved map is added under the map collection node in the workspace manager.
