Geometry Calculation for Point Symbol Strokes
This section introduces geometric operations between strokes of point symbols, which can be understood as spatial geometric operations between geometries constituting point symbols. The main operations include: clipping operation between strokes, merge operation, and line split operation. Detailed descriptions of these functions are provided below.
Clipping Operation
The clipping operation allows users to draw a temporary polygon in the symbol editing area to clip strokes within the specified region. The portion of strokes inside the clipping area will be retained, while parts outside will be removed.
- Click the Clip Object button on the toolbar;
- In the symbol editing area, continuously click the mouse to define control points for the clip bounds (i.e., draw a temporary polygon). Right-click to finish drawing and complete the clipping operation.
Line Split Operation
The line split operation allows users to draw a temporary polyline in the symbol editing area to split the geometries of strokes intersected by this polyline.
- Click the Line Split button on the toolbar;
- In the symbol editing area, continuously click the mouse to define control points for the split line (i.e., draw a temporary polyline). Right-click to finish drawing and split the intersected geometries.
