Intelligent Color Balancing And Dodging

Instructions

When the color difference among multiple oblique photogrammetry 3D models is too large, the intelligent color balancing and dodging function can be used. By analyzing the color difference between the reference image and the target image, a color balancing weight file (*.colorAdjWgt) is generated, which is used for subsequent batch adjustment of color consistency of oblique photography data. This function does not directly modify the images.

Before using this function, you need to obtain the resource extension package and perform related environment configuration. For detailed steps, see the 3D AI Function Environment Configuration document.

SuperMap iDesktopX 2026 provides this function from this version onward.

Entry Points

  • 3D Geographic Design tab -> Oblique Photography Data operations -> Color Balancing and Dodging drop-down menu -> Intelligent Color Balancing and Dodging button
  • Toolbox -> 3D Data -> Intelligent Processing -> Color Balancing and Dodging

Operation Steps

  1. Create a new globe scene. In the workspace manager, right-click "Scene" and select "New Globe Scene".
  2. Load 3D tiles. In the layer manager, select the ordinary layer, right-click and select "Add 3D Tile Layer", or in the Scene tab, in the Data group, click the Tile drop-down button and select "Load Tile..." from the pop-up menu.
  3. In the layer manager, select the 3D tile layer, right-click and select "Quickly Locate to This Layer". In the scene window, hold the mouse wheel to adjust the camera to a perspective convenient for observing the data.
  4. On the 3D Geographic Design tab, in the Oblique Photography Operations group, click the Color Balancing and Dodging drop-down menu Intelligent Color Balancing and Dodging button. The "Oblique Photography Color Balancing and Dodging" panel will appear on the right side of the software.
  5. Specify the target image: Click the "Open" button next to the parameter, select the image file to be color-analyzed (supports png, jpg, jpeg, bmp formats), or directly enter the image path.
  6. Specify the reference image: Click the "Open" button next to the parameter, select the reference image as the color standard (supports png, jpg, jpeg, bmp formats), or directly enter the image path.
  7. Click the Analyze button. The system calculates color balancing and dodging parameters based on the two images. The analysis effect can be viewed in the preview box below the panel (the preview object is a simulation effect of the image).
  8. Click the Save button, and set the save path and name of the weight file (*.colorAdjWgt) in the pop-up dialog. This file can be used for further adjustment using the manual color balancing and dodging function later.
