Function Description

With this function, Model Dataest can be converted into 2D surface data. After conversion, it is equivalent to projecting all Model Objects in Model Dataest onto XY (2D) plane to generate 2D Region Dataset.

Function entrance

• Data tab-> Data Processing group-> Type Conversion-> Model to 2D Surface.
• Toolbox-> Type Conversion-> 2D Data and 3D Data Conversion-> Model to 2D Surface.

Operating instructions

1. Open Datasource with Model Dataest in Workspace Manager;
2. In the Data Processing group on the Data tab, click the drop-down arrow of the Type Conversion button and select the Model to 2D Surface command from the displayed menu to bring up the Model to 2D Surface dialog;
3. In the dialog list Area SettingSource Datasource and Result Datasource;
4. After setting, click the Run button to complete the operation.

After successful conversion, open the property sheet of the 2D Region Dataset, and the platform automatically generates two Property Fields, BottomAttitude and Height. Bottom Attitude records the Bottom Altitude of the 2D surface corresponding to the Model Object before conversion, and Height records the Returns the height of the object of the model before conversion.
