Create Statistical Thematic Map
Feature Description
Through the Create Statistical Thematic Map functionality, you can generate a default-styled statistical thematic map based on the current vector layer. This mapping method is efficient, but may require further modifications to meet actual user requirements and achieve satisfactory results.
When using templates, ensure the existence of field expressions for the thematic map. If the current layer lacks thematic map fields specified in the template, a warning dialog will appear: "Thematic map cannot display properly because the expression does not exist. Please specify the expression." Users need to re-specify appropriate fields.
Steps
- Select a vector layer in the Layer Manager for which you want to create a statistical thematic map.
- Right-click the selected vector layer in the Layer Manager, choose "Create Thematic Map..." from the context menu. In the dialog box, click "Statistical Thematic Map", then select a template from the right panel to create the map.
- The template-created statistical thematic map will automatically display as a thematic layer in the current map window, with corresponding addition in the Layer Manager.
Notes
- After creating through context menu, the "Statistical Thematic Map" dockable window will appear, showing default settings. Users can modify styles here to obtain better results.
- If closed, reopen the configuration window by double-clicking the layer in Layer Manager or right-clicking and selecting "Modify Thematic Map".
- When diagram type is set to "Area Chart" or "Step Chart", only the first segmented color in the selected color scheme will be applied.
