Browse Map

The Layout tab's Map Operation group and the map's Context Menu organize tools for browsing maps in the layout, including locking and unlocking the map, zooming in, zooming out, panning, full view of the map, refreshing, and zooming to layer, among others.

Lock Map

Used to lock a map in the layout. After the map is locked, users can perform various browsing operations on the map in the layout, while other layout elements remain unchanged.

  • Select a map in the layout, click the Lock Map button in the Map Operation group on the Layout tab; the currently selected map enters a locked state. At this point, other map browsing buttons in the Map Operation group become available, allowing users to perform various map browsing operations on the locked map in the layout.
  • When the map is locked, clicking this button unlocks the map, and no further browsing operations can be performed on it.

Zoom In

Click the Zoom In button in the Map Operation group on the Layout tab; the operation status of the locked map in the current layout changes to zooming in on the map.

Used to zoom in and browse the locked map in the current layout.

  • Click to zoom in: Click the mouse within the frame of the locked map; the map will zoom in centered on the clicked position, with a zoom factor of 2x.
  • Rectangle selection zoom in: Press and hold the left mouse button within the frame of the locked map, then drag diagonally to display a temporary rectangle that resizes as the mouse moves. Release the left mouse button at the desired position to zoom in based on the area defined by the temporary rectangle. After zooming in, the display effect is as follows: the center point of the temporary rectangle becomes the zoom center, and the zoom factor is the smaller value between the ratios of the current map frame's minimum bounds width and height to the temporary rectangle's width and height.

Zoom Out

Used to zoom out and browse the locked map in the current layout.

Click the Zoom Out button in the Map Operation group on the Layout tab; the operation status of the locked map in the current layout changes to zooming out on the map.

  • Click to zoom out: Click the mouse within the frame of the locked map; the map will zoom out centered on the clicked position, with a zoom factor of 2x.
  • Rectangle selection zoom out: Press and hold the left mouse button within the frame of the locked map, then drag diagonally to display a temporary rectangle that resizes as the mouse moves. Release the left mouse button at the desired position to zoom out based on the area defined by the temporary rectangle. Free Zoom

Used to freely zoom in or out on the locked map in the layout.

Click the Free Zoom button in the Map Operation group on the Layout tab; the operation status of the locked map in the current layout changes to free zoom state.

  • Click and drag within the frame of the locked map to zoom in or out; release the left mouse button to stop the free zoom operation, and the map refreshes once.
  • During free zoom while holding the left mouse button, the map does not refresh in real-time, so blank areas may appear in the map frame. Only after releasing the left mouse button and stopping the free zoom operation will the map refresh.

Full View

Used to display the locked map in the current layout at full view.

  • Click the Full View button in the Map Operation group on the Layout tab; the locked map in the current layout enters full view state. This adjusts the zoom scale based on the map frame size to display the map completely and maximized within the current frame.

Refresh

Used to refresh the display of the locked map in the current layout.

  • Click the Refresh button in the Map Operation group on the Layout tab to update the content of the locked map in the current layout.

Pan

The Pan button provides the ability to continuously pan the content of the locked map for browsing in the current layout.

Click the Pan button in the Map Operation group on the Layout tab; the operation status in the current layout changes to panning state.

  • Within the frame of the locked map, click and hold the left mouse button to drag; the map in the layout will pan in the direction of the drag. Release the left mouse button to stop panning, and the map refreshes once.
  • During panning while holding the left mouse button, the map does not refresh in real-time, so blank areas may appear in the map frame. Only after releasing the left mouse button and stopping the panning operation will the map refresh.

Previous/Next View

The Previous/Next View function is used to view the effects of switching between visible bounds: before and after. It is only available in the Lock Map state.

Select the map, choose lock map in the context menu, and adjust the visible bounds:. Then, select Map Browsing->Previous/Next View in the context menu, or click the Previous/Next View button in the Layout tab->Map Operation group to view the effect of changes in map visible bounds:.

Zoom To

The Zoom To function is used to go to a layer. Select a layer, and the visible bounds: of the layout map will switch to the layer's extent. If the map has Lock Maximum Display Bounds set, the visible bounds: may not match the layer's visible bounds: after zooming to the layer.

Select the map frame object in the layout, right-click, choose Zoom To in the context menu; the expanded list will display all layers in the map (including invisible layers). Then select the layer you want to switch to its extent.
