Similar Text Theme

Feature Description

Similar Text Style... function allows batch modification of text styles with same characteristics and unified replacement of text styles.

Steps

  1. Open text layer in map and set text layer to editable state.
  2. Select a text object in map, right-click to open context menu, choose Similar Text Style... to open Similar Text Theme dialog.
  3. Figure: Similar Text Theme Dialog Box
  4. Parameters in Similar Text Theme dialog are divided into Filter Similar Text Theme and Set Target Text Theme sections. Left parameters define similar text themes to modify, right parameters define target text styles.
  5. Filter Similar Text Theme

Determine the style criteria for texts in current layer. All parameters in this section use "AND" logic - texts must meet all checked criteria simultaneously. Unchecked parameters won't be considered. Default parameters match selected text's style.

    • Font: Select font from dropdown as criteria. E.g., choosing "SimSun" will filter texts using this font. Tip: Type letters for quick font search.
    • Alignment: Select text alignment from dropdown as criteria. E.g., "Top-Left" alignment.
    • Font Size: Input or select font size. E.g., "10.5" will filter texts with matching size when other criteria are met.
    • Font Height: Available only when "Font Size" is checked. Input height value or derive from font size (automatically calculates corresponding size while keeping width unchanged).
    • Font Width: Input width value as criteria. E.g., 19pt width.
    • Rotation Angle: Select from common angles (0,45,90,135,180,225,270,315) or input custom value (automatically converted to 0-360° range).
    • Text Color: Select color from color picker.
    • Background: Select background color from color picker.
    • Font Effect: Includes Bold, Italic, Outline, Shadow, Underline, Strikethrough, Transparent BG, Fixed Size. Checkboxes have three states:
      • : Unchecked - filter texts without this effect
      • : Indeterminate - ignore this effect in filtering
      • : Checked - filter texts with this effect
    • Set Target Text Theme: Configure target styles for filtered texts. Parameters correspond with Filter section.

Checkboxes (excluding Font Effects) have two states:

      • Checked: Modify corresponding style parameter
      • Unchecked: Keep original style

Font Effect checkboxes have three states (using Bold as example):

      • : Remove bold effect
      • : Preserve original state
      • : Apply bold effect
  6. After configuration, click "OK" to complete style replacement.

Notes

Parameters in Filter Criteria section use logical AND. E.g., selecting "SimSun" font with "Strikethrough" will only affect texts meeting both conditions.
