Specify Coordinates

Function Description

Specify Coordinates: Indicates moving the object to the specified coordinates.

When the layer is editable, select the geometry, then the Specify Coordinates function is available.

Function Entry

  • Edit Data tab -> Object Editing group -> General editing -> Move and zoom -> Specify Coordinates

Operation Instructions

  1. In the editable layer, select the geometry to move.
  2. In the General editing drop-down menu of the Edit Data tab, click the Specify Coordinates button in the Move and zoom group to perform the operation of specifying coordinates to move the object.
  3. At this time, the mouse prompt says: “please specify the base point coordinates”. Click the mouse at a suitable position in the map or input coordinate values to determine the base point coordinates of the movement.
  4. At this time, the mouse prompt says: “please specify target point coordinates”. You can move the mouse in the map window or enter X and Y coordinate values in the following parameter input box to determine the position to which the object moves. When moving the mouse, a preview of the moved object (shown with a dashed line) is displayed in real time in the map. After confirmation, the selected object will move to the specified coordinates.
  5. To continue moving the object, simply enter the coordinate values for the object movement again; press the Esc key or right-click the mouse to end the current operation.
