Fishing Net Mark

Feature Description

The Fishing Net Mark function automatically marks grids based on fishnet data. By generating text labels and configuring color identifiers for grids, it provides intuitive tracking and management of progress in scenarios such as DLG data capture.

Operators can quickly update the mark status by clicking or box-selecting grids. The mark content supports custom modification, eliminating the need to manually create thematic maps, greatly simplifying the entire fishing net mark workflow.

Function Principle

The Fishing Net Mark function automatically generates two types of thematic maps for the specified fishnet dataset, replacing the tedious operation of manually creating thematic maps:

  • Label Thematic Map: Displays label text at the center of the grid to visually represent the grid mark value.
  • Unique Value Thematic Map: Configures differentiated colors/fill styles for grid faces based on different values of the tag field, enabling visual differentiation of mark status.

Application Scenarios

  • DLG Data Capture Progress Tracking: Operators click or drag to select grids, marking the progress status of grids (e.g., Not Started, In Progress, Completed) in real time.
  • Existing Polygon Data Marking System: Based on an existing fishnet region dataset, quickly generate mark thematic maps and enter the marking mode, adapting to custom workflow management.

Version Information

The Fishing Net Mark function is available starting from SuperMap iDesktopX 2026.

Function Entry

  • Edit Data tab -> Fishnet group -> Fishing Net Mark button
  • Automatic trigger: When using "Create Fishnet" and checking the "Create Mark" option, the Fishing Net Mark dialog box automatically pops up after execution completes.

Operation Instructions

Fishing Net Mark Dialog Box

Open the Fishing Net Mark dialog box through either of the above methods. The dialog box is modeless and is located by default at the upper-left corner of the map window.

Description of the dialog box parameter area:

  • Fishing Net Layer: Specifies the fishnet polygon layer to be marked.
    • If triggered via the "Create Fishnet" function, the newly generated fishnet polygon layer is automatically selected.
    • Manual trigger: Select the target polygon layer manually from the drop-down list.
  • Tag Field: Specifies the tag field.
    • If triggered via the "Create Fishnet" function, the tag field "mark" is automatically selected.
    • Manual trigger: Manually select an existing attribute field.
  • Mark Content: Specifies the content to be marked.
    • If triggered via the "Create Fishnet" function, the mark content is predefined as 0 and 1.
    • Manual trigger: Manually select and support custom configuration.
    • The mark content is not limited to the preset "0", "1", or existing field values. It can be flexibly modified according to the actual workflow (e.g., "Not Started", "In Progress", "Completed") along with corresponding styles.
  • Tag Management: Supports entering Tag Management via the Custom button in the drop-down menu, where you can add, edit, and delete mark information, and set the display style of marks.
    • Add: Adds a new row, sets field values, and allows clicking the "Style" cell to customize border and fill styles.
    • Edit: Directly modifies the content in the table.
    • Delete: Deletes the selected row.

Scenario 1: Create Fishnet Then Automatically Enter Fishing Net Mark

When using the "Create Fishnet" function and checking the "Create Mark" option, the system automatically completes the following operations:

  1. Generates the fishnet region dataset.
  2. Creates a tag field (mark) and assigns an initial value of 0.
  3. Automatically generates two thematic map layers and adds them to the top of the layer manager:
    • Label thematic map (topmost layer): Created based on the mark field, Microsoft YaHei 8-point font, centered display.
    • Unique value thematic map (second layer): Created based on the mark field, with sub-item 0 having a red border and no fill, and sub-item 1 having a red border and yellow fill.
  4. Automatically pops up the "Fishing Net Mark" dialog box and pre-fills the parameters:
    • Fishing Net Layer: Automatically selects the newly generated fishnet polygon layer.
    • Tag Field: Automatically selects the mark field.
    • Mark Content: Predefines mark content as 0 and 1.
  5. At this point, simply select the target mark value from the Mark Content drop-down list, and then directly click or box-select grids to perform the marking operation.
    • Start Marking:
      • Mouse status prompt: "Please select the marked fishing net".
      • Click or drag to select grids on the map. The tag field value of the selected grids will be immediately updated to the value of the selected "Mark Content", and the thematic map style refreshes in real time.
      • The button text changes to Stop Marking.
      • After turning on the flag, all layers except the fishnet unique value thematic map layer are set to "Not Selectable", ensuring precise marking operations.
    • Stop Marking:
      • Exits the marking mode and restores the selectable state of all layers recorded previously.
      • The button reverts to Turn on the Flag.

Scenario 2: Generate Fishing Net Mark Based on an Existing Fishnet Region Dataset

For an existing fishnet region dataset, you need to manually configure the parameters and then turn on the flag to generate the thematic map layers:

  1. Click the Fishing Net Mark button to open the "Fishing Net Mark" dialog box.
  2. Manually configure the parameters: Select "Fishing Net Layer", "Tag Field", and "Mark Content" in sequence.
  3. Click the "Start Marking" button. The system automatically generates a label thematic map and a unique value thematic map, adds the thematic layers to the top of the layer manager, and then enters the marking mode. Subsequent marking operations are exactly the same as in Scenario 1.

Core Differences Between the Two Scenarios:

  • After Create Fishnet: The thematic map layers are already automatically generated. Users only need to select the mark content to directly start marking.
  • Based on existing fishnet: Manually configure the fishing net layer, tag field, and mark content. The thematic map layers are generated only after clicking "Turn on the Flag" and entering the marking mode.
