Enable Layer Editing

Editable command is used to control whether the vector layer is editable, i.e., whether the objects within the layer can be edited.

Enable Layer Editing

Method One:

Right-click the vector layer node in the layer manager, then select the Editable command from the context menu to activate the editing operation.

Method Two:

The Editable button (shaped like a pen) in front of the vector layer node in the layer manager is also used to control whether the vector layer is editable. You can control editability by clicking this button. When the button is active, the vector layer is editable; when the button is locked, the vector layer cannot be edited.

Method Three:

Right-click the layer you want to edit and select the Layer Properties item, then check the Editable checkbox in the Layer Properties panel.

Method Four:

In the layer editor, open the Layer Control dialog, select the layer you want to edit in the dialog, and check the Editable checkbox.

Enable Multi-layer Editing

In the Map Editing group on the Features tab, the Multi-layer Editing checkbox is used to control whether the editing state in the current map is multi-layer editing; Check this checkbox to enable multi-layer editing for the current map; Not checking it means that only one layer in the current map can be in an editable state. By default, the application does not enable multi-layer editing.

  • If the current map is in a multi-layer editing state, multiple editable map layers can exist in the map. When a user selects an object in the map, the layer of that object will automatically switch to be the current layer, allowing editing of that layer's content.
  • If the current map is not in a multi-layer editing state, only one editable layer can exist in the map. If the user wants to edit other layers in the map, they need to frequently switch the editable state of layers.
  • The multi-layer editing function facilitates user editing of different layers in the map, reducing user operations.

Specify the Current Layer

During multi-layer editing, you can specify the currently edited and operated layer through the Current Layer combo box. Click the drop-down button on the right to switch the currently edited layer in the drop-down menu. If the selected layer is not enabled for editing, switching the Current Layer to that layer will automatically set it to an editable state.
