Condition Management

Instructions for Use

A condition is a set of fields designated to establish dependencies. Before creating contingent values, a dataset must have a condition established. The condition management function is primarily used to manage conditions and the fields contained within each condition.

Fields that can be added to a condition must have a range set. Therefore, before creating a condition, you need to configure the corresponding field settingsRange.

Functional Entry

  • Attribute Management tab -> Conditional Value group -> Condition Parameters Manage.

Operation Steps

  1. Activate the attribute management window via the dataset context menu -> Attribute Management item -> Conditional Value.
  2. Click the Condition Management button in the Attribute Management tab -> Conditional Value group to open the condition management dialog box.
  3. Click the Add button in Condition Settings to add a new condition with the default name "Condition 1". Double-click the name cell to modify its name. Multiple conditions can be added.
  4. In the condition settings list, select a record, then click the drop-down button in Field Settings. A drop-down menu will list all fields in the dataset that have a range set. Select the field for which you want to set contingent values and click the OK button to add it to the selected condition.
  5. Limit field input: Specifies whether to create a restrictive condition, meaning whether to restrict the valid values that can be entered in the attribute table under this condition. By default, it is checked, meaning that for fields with contingent values set in the attribute table, the values that can be entered are strictly limited to the preset values in the contingent values; otherwise, entry is not allowed. If unchecked, the created condition will not be restrictive, and values not specified as contingent values can be entered in the attribute table.
  6. After completing the above steps, click OK, and then you can set contingent values for the selected field in the contingent values window.
    Note:

A dataset supports creating multiple conditions, but identical field combinations are not allowed to exist in multiple conditions. If a field combination already exists in one condition, attempting to add it to another condition will trigger a prompt box stating: failed to add. the field combination already exists in the existing condition.
