Condition Management

Instructions for Use

A condition refers to a collection of fields designated to establish dependencies. A dataset must have a pre-created condition before contingent values can be created. The condition management feature is primarily used to manage conditions and the fields included within each condition.

Fields added to a condition must have a defined range. Therefore, before creating a condition, it is necessary to first set the Range for the corresponding field settings.

Functional Entry

  • Attribute Management Tab -> Conditional Value Group -> Condition Parameters -> Manage.

Operational Steps

  1. Activate the Attribute Management window via the dataset context menu -> Attribute Management item -> Conditional Value.
  2. Click the Attribute Management tab -> Conditional Value group -> Condition Management button to open the Condition Management dialog.
  3. Click the Add button in Condition Settings to add a new condition with the default name "Condition 1". Double-click the name cell to modify its name. Multiple conditions can be added.
  4. Select a record in the Condition Settings list, then click the drop-down button in Field Settings. The drop-down menu will list all fields in the dataset that have a defined range. Select the field for which you want to set contingent values and click the OK button to add it to the selected condition.
  5. Restrictive: Set whether to create a restrictive condition, i.e., whether to restrict the valid values that can be entered in the attribute table under the constraints of this condition. The default is restrictive, meaning values entered for fields with contingent values in the attribute table will be strictly limited to the preset values in the contingent values; otherwise, input will be denied. If non-restrictive is selected, the created condition will not be restrictive, allowing values not specified as contingent values to be entered into the attribute table.
  6. After completing the above operations, click OK to proceed to set contingent values for the selected fields in the Contingent Values window.
    Note:

A dataset supports the creation of multiple conditions, but identical field combinations are not allowed to exist across multiple conditions. If a field combination already exists in one condition and is attempted to be added to another, a prompt will appear: Failed to add. The field combination already exists in the existing condition.
