Map Display Settings

  1. Layer Visibility Settings

    In the Layer Manager, select the original layers District_L, Capital_P, and Provinces_R. Right-click and choose "Remove" or "Disable Display" from the context menu to hide unnecessary layers in the current map.

  2. Layer Order Arrangement

    To ensure proper and aesthetic layer display, arrange layers in the Layer Manager from top to bottom as follows: MapDivision_L, WeatherForecast_T, SeaLabel_T, Capital_P (matrix label thematic map), District_L (unique value thematic map), MainWater_L, Provinces_R (graduated color thematic map), Neighbor_R (uniform label thematic map), Neighbor_R.

  3. Layer Visible Scale Settings

    When zoomed out, if most matrix labels in the thematic map become invisible due to collision avoidance or significant displacement, set the current scale as the Minimum Visible Scale for the Capital_P thematic map.

    Operation steps: Click the "Layer Properties" button in the "Properties" group under the "Maps" tab. In the "Layer Properties" menu, click the drop-down button next to "Min Visible Scale:" combo box, select "Set to Current Scale" from the list, or manually enter 1:35783749 in the text field to configure the layer's minimum visible scale.

    For better display effects, set Minimum Visible Scale for WeatherForecast_T to 1:45334460, Neighbor_R uniform label thematic map to 1:56668075, and SeaLabel_T to 1:56668075.

  4. Map Full Extent Configuration

    This map contains thematic content for China and base map elements for neighboring countries. To highlight Chinese regions in full view, configure the map's full extent.

    Navigate to "Map Properties" tab > "Bounds" group in the ribbon. Check the "Full Extent" checkbox, then click the activated drop-down button and select "Draw Rectangle". Draw a rectangular area approximately covering China to define the full extent.

Notes

  1. After completing map configuration, click the "Save" button in the "Workspace" group under the "Start" tab to save the current map and workspace according to prompts.
  2. In addition to the mentioned map surround elements, layout elements like legend, scale bar, and north arrow should be added to the layout, which won't be detailed here.
