Raster Query Settings

Feature Description

When querying raster values at the mouse position, you can configure whether search results display raster information and slope/aspect values, along with parameters like elevation scaling factor.

Steps

  1. In the "Spatial Analysis" Tab's "Raster Analysis" group, click the "Raster Query" drop-down button and select "Raster Query Settings" to open the "Grid Query Parameter Settings" dialog.
  2. Display Raster Information: Check this box to show grid row, column, and raster value information of the selected cell in search results. Uncheck to hide raster information.
  3. Display Slope and Aspect: Check this box to display slope/aspect values of the selected cell in search results. Uncheck to hide these values.
  4. Elevation Scaling Factor: Required when elevation unit differs from x/y coordinate units. Multiply elevation values by this factor to align units. Example: For x/y in meters and z in feet (1 foot = 0.3048 meters), use 0.3048. Value 1 indicates no scaling.

Recommended for data with projected coordinate systems (units: meters). For geographic coordinate systems, specify appropriate z-factors at corresponding latitudes. Use the following z-factors when x/y units are degrees and z unit is meters:

       Latitude Z-factor
           0 0.00000898
          10 0.00000912
          20 0.00000956
          30 0.00001036
          40 0.00001171
          50 0.00001395
          60 0.00001792
          70 0.00002619
          80 0.00005156

  5. Click OK to complete raster value query configuration.
