Surface Cut Fill
Instructions for use
When an undulating area needs to be leveled, the user can perform Surface Cut Fill calculation by specifying the elevation of the undulating area and the leveled surface to obtain the fill area, the cut area, the fill amount, and the cut amount. This feature supports both 2D map data and 3D Scene data. For an introduction to the principle and method of Surface Cut Fill, see the Table Surface Cut Fill section of About Surface Analysis .
Function entrance
- On the Spatial Analysis tab-> Raster Analysis-> Surface Analysis-> Surface Cut Fill;
- Toolbox-> Raster Analysis Tools-> Surface Analysis-> Terrain Calculation-> Surface Cut Fill. (iDesktopX)
Note: The Surface Cut Fill feature is only available if there is a Raster Dataset in the Map.
Main parameters
- Set the source data, which is the Raster Dataset participating in Surface Cut Fill.
- Datasource: All Datasources in Current Workspace are listed. Select the Datasource where the Raster Dataset participating in Surface Cut Fill is located.
- Dataset: All Raster Datasets (GRID) in the Current Data source are listed. Select the Raster Dataset participating in Surface Cut Fill from the list. The opened Raster Dataset in the Map will be automatically located here.
- Append:: The elevation value of the flat surface resulting from the mass cut result. The default is 0, that is, the reference object has an elevation value of 0.
- Buffer Settings can be used only when the obtained reference object is a line object.
- Buffer Type: The user can select different Buffer Types as required, including Flat and Round. Flat means that the buffer is dog-eared at both ends of the line and at the nodes, and Round means that the buffer is gently rounded at both ends of the line and at the nodes.
- Buffer Radius:: Buffer Radius: determines the range of the buffer zone, creates a buffer zone for the drawn line object, and forms the face to be filled and excavated.
- Set Result Data.
- Datasource: All the Datasources in the Current Workspace are listed. Select the Datasource where the Result Dataset is located. Default is the same as Source Datasource.
- Dataset: Sets the name of the Result Dataset.
- Click OK to execute the mass haul operation. After Executed, the Fill and Excavation Calculate Result will be displayed in the Output Window, including Fill Volume, Cut Volume, Fill Area, Cut Area and Unfilled Area, where the volume unit is cubic meter and the area unit is square meter.
