Add Data

Adding datasets to the map is supported. When a dataset is opened in the map, a layer will be automatically generated in Layer Manager to control its visibility, editability, etc.

Provides four methods to add layers to the map:

  • Method 1: Select the target dataset in Workspace Manager and drag it directly onto the map; or select Add to New Map or Add to Current Map in the dataset context menu. Batch adding datasets is supported.
  • Method 2: Right-click on the map and select Add Data. Choose datasets in the pop-up selection dialog.
  • Method 3: Select Create Map in the map node context menu of Workspace Manager, then select datasets in the pop-up Select dialog.
  • Method 4: Click the Add Data > Dataset button in the Layer Manager toolbar, or right-click the blank area and select Add Data > Dataset. Select datasets in the pop-up Add to Map dialog. Batch addition is supported.
Caution:
  • When adding excessively large image data to the map, a prompt dialog will appear suggesting users create image pyramids before adding to map windows to improve display speed. When loading multiple image datasets simultaneously, selecting "Perform this operation for datasets" will create pyramids for all memory-intensive image datasets and load them into the map.
  • For oversized vector datasets added to the map, the application will check dataset indexes. Users will be prompted to create spatial indexes when object counts exceed 2000 without existing indexes, enhancing display performance for large datasets.
