Add Online Map
Function Description
SuperMap iDesktopX supports adding various online map services to the scene, allowing users to conveniently select a map service as the basemap for the 3D scene. Supported services include the following:
- Tianditu: Provided by the National Surveying and Mapping Bureau, it offers authoritative, reliable, and unified geographic information services to the public, and is currently the geographic information service website with the most comprehensive data resources in China.
- OpenStreetMap: Abbreviated as OSM, it is a freely editable world map.
- STK Terrain: Also known as STK World Terrain, it is a high-resolution, grid-based global terrain that uses multiple data sources to meet the needs of different regions and precisions. STK Terrain can only be added to spherical scenes.
- Custom: Supports custom input of link addresses to access map services.
Function Entry
- Scene Tab->Data Group->Online Map Drop-down Button
Operation Instructions
- After creating or opening a scene, click the Online Map button in the Data group on the Scene tab of the ribbon. A drop-down menu will appear. Click the corresponding option as needed to load the respective online map.
- Click the "STK Terrain" option to load a terrain layer.
- Click the "OpenStreetMap" option to load a screen layer and a layer named OpenStreetMaps.
- To load using a custom link, click "Custom", and the "iServer Service Layer" dialog box will pop up.
The custom method supports the following server types:
- iServer REST Service: For specific operations, see: Open iServer Service Layer
- OGC Service: For specific operations, see: Open OGC Service
- MapWorld Service: For specific operations, see: Open Tianditu Service Layer
- ArcGIS Service: For specific operations, see: Open ArcGIS Map Service Layer

The OpenStreetMap map may not load in the scene due to national restrictions.
