Modify Matrix Label Thematic Map

Feature Description

Users can modify various parameters of the Matrix Label Thematic Map in the Matrix Label Thematic Map dock panel to achieve more customized thematic effects.

Feature Entry: Double-click a Matrix Label Thematic Map in the Layer Manager to display its settings in the pop-up "Matrix Label Thematic Map" dock panel.

Parameter Description

  • Number of Rows/Columns: The default matrix size for each label object is 1 row × 2 columns. Users can adjust the matrix dimensions as needed.

    Enter numerical values directly in the text boxes to redefine matrix dimensions. Press Enter or when the text box loses focus to apply settings. Alternatively, use spin buttons to adjust values, with changes reflected on the thematic map in real-time.

  • Matrix Label Thematic Map Combo Box: Arranges matrix cells based on specified dimensions, allowing individual cell labeling. Supports Symbol Label, Picture Label, Uniform Label, Single-value Label, and Range Label. Note: The Matrix Label Thematic Map combo box or selected matrix cells appear in light blue.

    When selecting the entire Matrix Label Thematic Map combo box, parameter settings apply to the entire matrix label.

    Double-click a matrix cell to select label type from the dropdown menu. Different label types have distinct parameters:

    Symbol Label

    • Symbol: Set Code ID manually or select a field containing Code IDs. View symbol IDs in Resource Node → Marker Symbol Library.
    • Marker Size: Specify symbol display size in millimeters (integer values).
    • Color: Select symbol color via color picker dialog.
    • Rotation Angle: Set symbol rotation angle in degrees (integer values).

    Picture Label

    • Picture Path: Set thematic variable using a field containing relative image paths.

      Example: When Capital_P dataset's datasource is stored in E:\SampleData\China and images are in E:\SampleData\China\WeatherForecast, enter relative path like: WeatherForecast\a4.bmp in Path_1 field.

    • Rotation Angle: Set image rotation angle in degrees (integer values).
    • Keep Original Size: Check to display images at their native dimensions.
    • Image Width: Set display width in pixels (integer values).
    • Image Height: Set display height in pixels (integer values).
  • Note: Picture Path fields must contain relative paths. Search order for relative paths:

    • Check absolute path relative to current workspace.
    • Check absolute path relative to component bin directory.
    • Check absolute path in current file database.

    Images not found through these methods will not be rendered.

  • Uniform Label

    Parameters include three tabs: Attributes, Style, and Advanced, consistent with Uniform Label Thematic Map. For details, see: Modify Uniform Label Thematic Map.

    Single-value Label

    Parameters include three tabs: Attributes, Style, and Advanced, consistent with Single-value Label Thematic Map. For details, see: Modify Single-value Label Thematic Map.

    Range Label

    Parameters include three tabs: Attributes, Style, and Advanced, consistent with Range Label Thematic Map. For details, see: Modify Range Label Thematic Map.

Notes

  1. Created or modified Matrix Label Thematic Maps can be saved as templates for other layers. For template saving, refer to Save to Thematic Map Template Library.
  2. When creating thematic maps via templates, select saved templates from the "Template" dropdown menu.
  3. Matrix Label Thematic Maps support superscript/subscript for Uniform Label and Range Label cell types. For usage, see Uniform Label Thematic Map and Range Label Thematic Map attribute tab descriptions.
