Edit Thematic Map
SuperMap iDesktopX supports editing of geometry in existing thematic maps including unique value thematic map, graudated color thematic map, label thematic map, custom thematic map, statistical thematic map, graduated symbol thematic map, dot density thematic map, custom thematic map, grid unique value map and grid graudated color map. This allows direct modifications to thematic map elements without the need to first edit the source data and recreate the thematic maps.
Feature Description
- When both the source data used to generate thematic maps and the thematic map layers exist in a map, editing the thematic map layer actually modifies the source data used to generate the thematic maps. For example, moving a geometry in the thematic map layer will correspondingly move the same geometry in the source data layer.
- Since thematic maps depend on the source data used for their creation, any edits to thematic maps will affect the source data. To preserve original data integrity, please back up data beforehand if needed.
Steps
- Create a thematic map for vector or raster layers in the layer manager.
- Click the edit button
before the thematic map layer node to enable editing.
- Edit geometries in the thematic map layer using standard geometry editing methods. For geometry editing details, see Editing Objects.
