Feature Positioning Copy
Positioning Copy

Feature Description

The Positioning Copy function allows copying selected geometries (single or multiple objects) by specifying a base point as reference. During pasting, objects will be replicated to target positions using this reference point as origin.

  • This function is only available when selecting geometries (including complex objects and compounds).
  • Supports cross-layer operations. The operation will copy selected objects on respective layers to specified positions in corresponding layers.

Feature Entry

  • Features Tab->Feature Editing Group Dropdown->Positioning Copy.

Steps

  1. When the layer is editable, select one or multiple objects to copy.
  2. Click the Positioning Copy button in the Gallery control of Feature Editing group under Features tab to execute the operation.
  3. The cursor prompts: "Please specify the base point coordinates". Click on the map or input coordinate values to determine the base point.
  4. The cursor prompts: "Please specify target point coordinates". Moving the cursor will display preview of copied objects (shown with dashed lines). Click or input coordinates to finalize target position.

  5. Right-click to end operation. To continue copying, repeat the previous step until right-click termination.
    Notes:

    Newly created objects' attribute records will be appended to the end of attribute table. Their non-system field attributes inherit values from source objects. Source objects remain unchanged.
