View S-104

SuperMap iDesktopX supports importing *.h5 data compliant with S-104 specifications into file database, database datasource (PostGIS or DMPlus) or EMS datasource. Note that the datasource for importing S-104 data cannot be read-only.

Steps

  1. Open or create a datasource in the workspace to store *.h5 files.
  2. Select the target datasource for importing nautical chart data, then choose Import Nautical Chart Data->S-104 from the context menu; Alternatively, select the target datasource and go to Start Tab->Data Processing group->Data Import dropdown->Chart->select S-104.
  3. In the Import Nautical Chart Data dialog, select one or multiple S-104 *.h5 files and click Open.
  4. After file selection, the S-104 dialog will list selected files with the following editable parameters:
    • Source File: Displays the imported *.h5 filename.
    • Source Data: Shows the path of imported chart data.
    • Encoding Format: Default is TIN, with 4 other formats including FIXSTATION and REGULARGRID available.
    • Target Datasource: Displays target datasource name. Can switch to other datasources in current workspace via dropdown.
  5. After configuring parameters, click Import to complete S-104 chart data import.

Browse Navigational Water Level Data

After importing S-104 files, click or Shift-select chart groups, then choose Add to New Map or Add to Current Map from context menu to quickly view navigational water level data.

You can select water level features on the map for attribute queries. Basic Info including Depth Value will display in the right Properties panel.

Notes:

The file path for importing data must not contain Chinese characters.
