Installation and Uninstallation on Windows

Obtaining the Installation Software

There are two ways to obtain the software:

  • Purchase the SuperMap iDesktopX product to obtain the corresponding product installation USB drive.
  • Obtain it via the Tech Hub, which provides both official website download and Baidu Cloud download options for you to choose from.

The SuperMap iDesktopX product package comes in two versions: a Green Package and an Installation Package. The Green Package can be used immediately after downloading and extracting, while the Installation Package requires installation. For the installation process, please refer to Software Installation.

Software Installation

Before installation, please check if the installation machine meets the minimum software and hardware configuration requirements for the product. If it does, please follow these steps to complete the installation:

If you have previously installed other versions of SuperMap iDesktopX, please uninstall them before proceeding with the installation. For uninstallation, you can refer to Uninstalling the Product.

  1. Start the Installation Program

    Depending on how you obtained the product installation package, there are two ways to start it.

    • If you purchased the product package USB drive, in the SuperMap iDesktopX 2026 installation directory on the USB drive, right-click on Setup.exe and select Run as administrator to run the installation.
    • If you downloaded the software from the website, first extract the product package. In the extracted folder, right-click on Setup.exe and select Run as administrator to run the installation.
  2. After starting the Setup.exe program, the Welcome dialog box pops up. Click the Next button.

  3. The License Agreement dialog box pops up. Please read the End User License Agreement carefully. If you accept this agreement, please select the I accept the terms in the License Agreement option button and click the Next button to continue installation. If you do not accept the terms of the license agreement, click the Cancel button to exit the installation.

  4. The Choose Destination Location dialog box pops up. Select the product installation path and click the Next button to continue installation.
    • If installing using the system default path, click the Next button directly.
    • If you need to change the installation path, click the Browse button to specify the installation path, or directly enter the path in the text box, then click the Next button to continue installation.

  5. The Setup Type dialog box pops up. Select the installation type and click the Next button to continue installation.
    • Complete: Installs all program features. If you select Complete, you can skip step 6.
    • Custom: Allows the user to select installation options. Recommended for advanced users.

  6. If the user selects the Custom mode for installation, this step also shows the Choose Destination Location dialog box. Click Next to continue installation. The Select Features dialog box pops up. Users can select the components to install according to their needs. Custom installation only installs the items selected in the list.

  7. The Ready to Install the Program dialog box pops up. If you want to change or review any settings, click the Previous button. If you confirm the current settings are correct, click the Install button to proceed to the installation state.

  8. The Installation Status dialog box pops up, showing the installation progress. You can click the Cancel button to cancel this installation.
  9. After completing the above installation steps, the application will automatically install the License Center. After the License Center installation is complete, a prompt box stating Operation successfully completed will pop up. Click the OK button in the dialog box.

Uninstalling the Product

SuperMap provides two ways to uninstall the product. You can uninstall the product according to your actual needs.

  • Uninstall via Control Panel

    Taking the Windows 7 system as an example, the uninstallation steps are as follows:

    1. On the Start menu (Windows), click Control panel -> Programs and Features.
    2. Select the corresponding SuperMap product and click Uninstall.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the product uninstallation.
  • Uninstall via the Installation Program
    1. Double-click the product installation startup file Setup.exe in the product installation package.
    2. 2. The Installation Maintenance dialog box pops up. Select the Remove option button and click the Next button.
    3. A prompt box appears asking, "Are you sure you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its features?". Confirm deletions and click the Yes button. The installation system will perform the uninstallation operation.
