Instructions for use

If the 3D point and the point and line object in the Line Dataset correspond to the node and arc segment of the to-be-built Network respectively, and have the information describing the spatial Topology of the two, When 3D Line Dataset contains Arc ID, Arc Start Node ID and Arc End Node ID Select Fields, and 3D Point Dataset contains Point Object Node ID Select Fields, This method can be used to Build 3D Network Dataset.

After Build 3D Network Dataset succeeds in this way, the Number of result objects is the same as the number of objects in the source data, that is, a line object in the line data is written as an arc segment, and a point object in the point data is written as a node. And all Non-system Field: of the point, Line Dataset are reserved in the Result Dataset.

Operation steps

  1. On the Traffic Analysis tab, in the Road Network Analysis group, select the Build Topology Network Drop-down Button. Select Custom 3D Network Construction.
  2. The Custom 3D Network ConstructionDataset "dialog box as shown in the following figure pops up.

  3. Node Data: Select 3D Point Dataset and its Datasource, and set "Node ID Field" of Node Data.
  4. Edge Data: Select 3D Point Dataset and its Datasource, and set Edge Data's Edge ID Field, Start Node ID, and End Node ID.
  5. Result Settings: Select the Datasource where the Result Dataset is located, and modify the name of the Result Dataset.
  6. Click the OK button to execute the build of the 3D Network Dataset, which will Auto Close "Custom the 3D Network Construction" dialog box.

Precautions

  1. The data used to Build the 3D Network Dataset must have the same coordinate system, otherwise Build failed.
  2. Node Data's Node ID Field does not support the selection of SmID. SmID is System Field:. If Node Data is updated or copied, the field value of SmID recorded every day will change. If this field is used as Node ID Field, the association relationship between nodes and arcs will also change. Causes errors in the Network Dataset constructed by nodes and arcs. Edge ID Field does not affect the networking of Node Data and Edge Data.
  3. Arc ID, Arc Start Node ID, Arc End Node ID and Node ID fields of 3D Network Dataset constructed by user-defined network are the fields specified in Set Parameters instead of System Field:.
