Load the KML Layer
Instructions for use
"KML" Drop-down Button "can realize two functions:
- Add the existing KML type data to the scene in the Scene. The KML type data formats that can be loaded into the scene for display are: *.kml and *.kmz;
- Create a new KML file and load it into the scene as a new blank KML Layer.
Operation steps
To add existing KML data:
- After creating or opening a Scene, click the button part of the KML item in the ribbon > Scene tab > Data group; or click the Drop-down Button part of the KML item, and select the Loading KML.. item in the pop-up drop-down menu.
- The Open KML File dialog box pops up. Select the file (*.kml or *.kmz) of the KML type data to be loaded in the dialog box, and then click the Open button in the dialog box to complete the loading of the KML type data.
- The newly loaded KML type data is displayed on the simulated Earth in the scene as a KML Layer in the scene. At the same time, a KML Layer node will be added to the next level of the "Normal Layer" node in the Layer Manager. This node corresponds to the layer of the KML type data just loaded. Double-click the left mouse button on this node, and the 3D sphere will roam to the Layer Bounds corresponding to this layer, and perform a certain zoom display.
Create a new KML file and Add to Scene:
- After creating or opening a Scene, click the Drop-down Button part of the "KML" item in the ribbon > " Scene" tab > " Data" group, and select the " New KML.." item in the pop-up drop-down menu.
- Pop up the Select the KML file save path "dialog box, specify the path and file name for saving the new KML file in the dialog box, and click the Save button.
- The new KML file will be automatically Add to Scene as a new KML Layer, and a KML Layer node will be added to the next level of the "Normal Layer" "node in Layer Manager. This node corresponds to a new KML Layer.
Remark
- Data in *.kml and *.kmz format is a file based on XML syntax and file format, which is used to describe and save geographic information such as points, lines, pictures, and polylines and display them in the desktop scene. SuperMap supports displaying the geographic information recorded by KML format files in the scene as a KML 3D layer, that is, the geographic Object Info recorded by KML files is finally Add to Scene the sphere according to its coordinate information.
- A *.kmz file is a compressed set (in zip format) of one or more *.kml files.
- Only Spherical Scene supports creating or adding KML files, not in Plane Scene mode.
