Terrain Modify Model

Instructions for use

Because the terrain is undulating and the bottom of the model is flat and located at the same height, the model and the terrain can not be strictly fitted, and part of the model is buried or floating on the terrain, which can not achieve the desired real effect.

For terrain model matching, modify the Model Position according to the terrain grid value; select Model Dataest and Raster Dataset, and execute to generate a new Model Dataest.

Operation steps

  1. Right-click Datasource in Workspace Manager and select Open File Datasource "to open the Datasource containing the Model Dataest.
  2. Click the Model Tool Drop-down Button in the Model group under the 3D Data tab and select Terrain Modify Model under the Model Operation block from the drop-down menu. The Terrain Modify Model "dialog box pops up.
  3. DEM Data: Select the Terrain Data (DEMRaster Dataset) to be matched.
  4. Model Data: Select the Model Data (Model Dataest) to be matched.
  5. Result: Select Datasource to save the newly generated Model Dataest; enter a string in the text box on the right side of the Dataset as the name of the newly generated Model Dataest.
  6. Parameter Settings complete. Perform the Terrain Modify Model "operation. In the DEM Raster Data (Terrain Data) and the newly generated Model DataAdd to Scene, browse the matching effect of the terrain model.
  7. Figure: Terrain and model matching effect diagram

Precautions

  1. The model converted from CAD to Model Dataest does not match Terrain correctly.
  2. Currently, only the singulated Model Object is supported to correctly match the terrain.
