Edit Node

Function Description

The Edit Node button in the Object Editing group of the Object Operation tab provides functions to edit nodes in Geometry, including adding, deleting, and moving nodes.

A node (vertex) represents a series of coordinate points used to describe a Geometry in the SupeMap. Text does not have a node in SupeMap.

Caution:

The node editing function is only available for line and face objects.

Function entrance

  • Object Operation tab-> Object Editing group-> Edit Node.

Operating instructions

Edit Node operation

When the Edit Node button is pressed, in the editable layer in Map, you can edit nodes of the currently selected Geometry, including Add Node, Move Node, and Delete Node.

The specific operation steps are as follows:

  1. Set the Layer Settings where the Geometry (Line or Region) of the Node to be edited in the Map to be editable.
  2. Select a Geometry (Line or Region) to be edited, and currently only Edit Node operations can be performed on a selected object.
  3. In Object Editing on the Object Operation tab, click the Edit Node button in the pressed state, and the Operation Status in the current Map changes to the status of Edit Node. And the selected Geometry will show all the nodes.
  4. Add Node: Click the left mouse button on the selected Geometry to complete the node addition.
  5. Move Node: Select a node on Geometry, press and hold the left mouse button, and drag the mouse at the same time to move the selected node. After moving, release the left mouse button. After moving the node, the shape of Geometry will change accordingly.
  6. Delete Node: Select a node on Geometry and press Shift or Ctrl key to select multiple nodes continuously. Double-click or press Delete key to delete the selected node. Delete Node changes the Geometry's shape.
  7. During the operation, users can directly select other Geometry to add, move, delete and edit nodes. If you click the blank position of Map, the functions in Object Editing will be unavailable, and the mouse will automatically switch to the selection function. Select Geometry again to start the Edit Node function by default until the user switches the Edit Node button to the non-pressed state. The Edit NodeOperation Status will be terminated;
  8. To cancel the Edit Node operation for the current Map, simply click the Edit Node button so that it is not pressed. Or right-click in the Map.

Auto-coordinate node editing

When the user is performing Edit Node operation on Line Dataset and Region Dataset, Auto-coordinate node editing can be enabled. After this function is enabled:

  • When the common nodes of a plurality of adjacent face objects are dragged and deleted, the adjacent face objects can automatically maintain the limb relationship, so that the topological problems that the nodes of the adjacent objects are repeatedly adjusted and gaps or superpositions are easy to occur are avoided, and the work efficiency of a user is improved.
  • When a common point of a plurality of adjacent line objects is dragged and deleted, the line object sharing the point can automatically readjust the line type according to the moved node position, thereby avoiding the problems that a user repeatedly moves the common point and the moved point position cannot be overlapped.

The specific operation steps are as follows:

  1. On the Object Operation tab, in the Drawing Settings of the Object Drawing group, click the Auto-coordinate node editing button so that it is selected. Auto reconciliation is turned on when Edit Node.
  2. Move the mouse to Map to select the node to be adjusted, and hold down the left mouse button to move the mouse, or press Delete to delete the node. After Edit Node, the geometry of adjacent face objects changes and the adjacency relationship is always maintained. Edits the common point of multiple line objects, and the line objects sharing the point will automatically readjust the linetype according to the moved node position or the deleted state.
  3. To stop automatic reconciliation, you need to cancel the selection of Auto-coordinate node editing, and then the automatic ModifyOperation Status will be terminated.
