Export Nautical Chart
Instructions for use
The Export Nautical Chart Data.. option provides a function to export a read-only chart Dataset Group that conforms to the standard as a *.000 file or a *.shp file. If it is exported as a *.000 file, the Vector Dataset (Point, Line, Surface, Attribute Dataset) of All Types contained in the Dataset Group will be exported as a *.000 file; If it is exported as a *.shp file, the Vector Dataset (Point, Line, Region Dataset) contained in the Dataset Group will be exported as a corresponding single *.shp file.
Only S-57-compliant Chart Data is supported for import.
Operation steps
- In the Datasource of the Current Workspace, select the Non-editable Chart Group you want to export, right-click and select Export Nautical Chart … Button to open the Export Chart Count dialog box.
- Click
the button to continue adding the Non-editable Chart Group you want to export to the list box. Users can add multiple groups, and can also set and remove the groups added to the list box through other buttons in the toolbar.
- The toolbar buttons are described as follows:
Button: Add Datasource to export. Click this button to open the Select dialog.
- Click any sub-node (Dataset Group node) under the Datasource node in the directory tree on the left side of the Select window, and the list box on the right side of the window will list the Non-editable Chart Group under the Datasource. In the
- toolbar, you can set the Display Method and Display Type of the group, and search the group. Select and remove the group added to the list box
- through other buttons in the toolbar, and click the OK button to add the group to the list box in the Export Nautical Chart window.
Button: Select All File in the list box.
Button: Invert the file in the list box.
Button: Remove added files.
- The list box is described as follows:
- Source Data: lists the names of the groups that need to be exported.
- Overwrite: This check box is used to set whether or not to overwrite an existing file with the same name when a file with the same name already exists under the target file path. If the check box is checked, the existing file with the same name will be overwritten; if the check box is not checked, the file will not be exported.
- Target File: shows the default path for the exported Chart Data file. The Result File is the same as the original group name, and the user can set the Target File Renames. in the Target Settings.
- Target Settings: Sets the path to the Export File. Click
to pop up the Export Nautical Chart dialog box to re-specify the Export Path and Result File of the Target File.
- Target Type: is used to display and set the format of Data Export. You can click the Drop-down Button of the Target Type cell and select the Data Export format from the drop-down list. Optional formats are 000 files and SHP files.
- The toolbar buttons are described as follows:
- You can use the Auto Close when finished check box at the bottom of the Export Nautical Chart dialog box to control whether the Auto Close dialog box is displayed when the export of the Chart Data file is completed;
- Click the Export button to batch export the All Data files in the list box.

- Chart Group data
- can be exported as a whole as a standard chart file, but individual Dataset can't be exported as a standard chart file. Exporting a Tabular Dataset as a *.shp file
- is not supported.
