Open Map
When opening an existing workspace, under the Maps node in the Workspace Manager, the maps saved in the current workspace will be displayed. Users can open any map under the map node in two ways: Open Map and Add to Current Map.
Open Map
- Right-click on a map under the map node in the Workspace Manager, and select Open Map from the context menu to display the selected map in a new map window.
- In the Workspace Manager, double-click on a map under the map node to open it in a new map window.
- Open Multiple Maps at Once: Hold down the Ctrl key, select multiple map nodes in the Workspace Manager, then right-click and choose Open Map from the context menu. This will open the selected maps in multiple map windows, with each map displayed in a separate window.
Add to Current Map
- Right-click on a map under the map node in the Workspace Manager, and select Add to Current Map from the context menu to display the selected map in the currently opened map window. This allows for quickly merging multiple maps into the same map. The newly added map will create a new layer group in the Layer Manager window, containing all layers of the newly added map.
- Dragging a map to an already opened map window can also open multiple maps in one map.
New Map
Feature Entry
- Right-click on the map node in the Workspace Manager, and select New Map Window from the context menu.
- Start tab -> Browse -> Maps button. The map drop-down button consists of two parts: the button part, clicking which executes the function of the first item in the drop-down menu; and the drop-down button part, clicking which pops up the drop-down menu, allowing selection of items to perform corresponding functions.
Steps
The following details the functions and operation methods implemented by each item in the Maps drop-down menu:
- New Map Window: Click to select the New Map Window item to create a blank map and choose datasets to load and display in this map.
- Add to New Map: Used to display selected spatial data in a new map. The specific operations are as follows:
- In the Workspace Manager, select the datasets whose spatial data you want to browse. You can select multiple datasets simultaneously by holding down the Shift or Ctrl key (datasets cannot be selected across data sources).
- Click to select the Add to New Map item to create a new map and add the selected datasets for display.
- Add to Current Map: If the current active window is a map, Add to Current Map is used to add the selected spatial data to this map for display. The specific operations are as follows:
- In the Workspace Manager, select the datasets whose spatial data you want to browse. You can select multiple datasets simultaneously by holding down the Shift or Ctrl key (datasets cannot be selected across data sources).
- Click to select the Add to Current Map item to add the selected datasets to this map for display.

- You can perform various operations in the map, such as adding data, editing data, decorating data, and analyzing data. You can save all displayed content in the map as a map. The map must first be saved to the workspace, and then the workspace must be saved. Only then will the map be finally saved. When you reopen the workspace, you can retrieve the previously saved map content.
- When closing the current map, a prompt dialog will appear asking if you want to save the current map. If you click Yes, and the map in the current map is an existing map, the content in the map will be directly saved to that map. Only by saving the workspace will the map be finally saved.
- When closing the current map, a prompt dialog will appear asking if you want to save the current map. If you click Yes, and the map in the current map is being saved for the first time, the Save Map As dialog will pop up. Enter the name of the map to save the current map. A new node will be added under the map collection node in the Workspace Manager, corresponding to the newly saved map. This only saves the map to the workspace; the map will be finally saved only after saving the workspace.
Delete Map
The Delete Map command is used to delete the map from the map collection in the workspace.
Right-click on the map you want to delete in the Workspace Manager, and select Delete Map from the context menu.

After the map is saved, a new map node will be added under the map collection node in the Workspace Manager, corresponding to the newly saved map.
- If the current map is an existing map in the workspace, the modifications to the map will be directly saved to the current map.

If the current map is a map that has been saved in the workspace (with no modifications), the Save Map command will be grayed out and unavailable.
